Bible Study What does God judge us by?

Boy Jay T, for a moderator, you don't seem to very adept at properly quoting, and you double posted.

Nor, do you seem to be well-versed in the Bible....

If we are to be judged by the Ten Commandment as YOU say, will will ALL be found guilty. Romans 3:10-11 makes that clear.

Then there's Romans 3:20 which states "Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh shall be justified in His sight.."

Plus, 1 Corinthians 15:56 "The sting of death is and the strength of sin is the law"

The law exists to expose our to US, not for God to judge us by (becuase EVERYONE would be found guilty).

And let me tell ya, when you have a bunch of apostate heathens like the officers of the Court here in Westmoreland County PA using their PERVERTED version of the 'law' to try to convince you you've sinned (when you KNOW you haven't); it does lead you to some interesting insights on how secular law differs from God's.

As well as make you understand Job's plight all themore.

Would it help to say ...I'm only human ?

To which I say....time will tell.

No, as Revelation 14:12 reveals, there is a people who keep all the commandments of God.
And the verses before that ...verse 4,5 ...tells us that they are without fault, before the Throne of God.
Then there's Romans 3:20 which states "Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh shall be justified in His sight.."
OK now balance that with Romans 2:13.... 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law [are] just before God, but the [doers of the law] shall be justified.
Plus, 1 Corinthians 15:56 "The sting of death is and the strength of sin is the law"

The law exists to expose our to US, not for God to judge us by (becuase EVERYONE would be found guilty).
Not those people who have Jesus Christ in their lives.
Jesus gives men the ability, to keep the Law of God.... Romans 10:4 "For Christ [is] the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth".

You are just beginning to see how the Mark of the Beast will work, against God's people, who keep all the commandments of God, as told in Revelation 12:17.
As well as make you understand Job's plight all themore.
All true Christians will go thru the Job experience, more or less.

Guilty of obeying God ? Eccl. 12:13 "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this [is] the whole [duty] of man".

12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether [it be] good, or whether [it be] evil.

I give up Jay T.

You are without sin.

Now go call yourself Messiah and start a cult

Well since my works are christ's works and Christ is righteous therefore I am righteous in Christ and will be judged accordingly!

When God looks upon me he sees Christ - yay for me ;)

I'm glad you are following all 10 commandments as Jesus told us to, as He did...setting an example for us to follow.

The 7th day Sabbath being the sign of our loyalty to Jesus Christ...... Christ speaking here..... 20:20 "And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I [am] the LORD your God".

Oh sweetie - I don't have to follow anything! Christ is doing it remember - it's His righteousness I rely on - not my own wonderful ability to follow commandments.

Thank God for that - phew!!

James 2:14 What [doth it] profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
2:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
2:16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be [ye] warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what [doth it] profit?

2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works.

The "yardstick" of God regarding men is Christ.

Christ is the perfect Man.

Christ is the New Man.

Men will be judged according to the measure of Christ that is within them.

All other thoughts regarding the "keeping" of commandments or laws etc., are erroneous when it comes to eternal judgement.

This is not to say that there is not judgement regarding things other than the measure of Christ in a person, for there will be judgement by the Lord of all who believe,.... regarding what they have done with their belief.

This is in connection with a believer's rewards, and not with a believer's eternal life.

Trying to preach the gospel to men by presenting them with God's 10 commandments is foolishness.

God Himself has presented His commandments to men and they rejected both Him and them. Can man do a better job?

Of course not.

Believers are not commanded to preach about the ten commandments to the unsaved, believers are commanded to preach the saving gospel, and only the saving gospel to unsaved men.

To do something else (to preach something else) is to reject God and His ordained way.

Who here can tell us in one sentence what the saving gospel is?

Think of a situation where a man is dying quickly,..... what would you say to this one in just a few seconds that would allow Him to hear and believe and be saved?

The answer is the preaching of the saving gospel to the unsaved, the rest, in many cases, is just the preaching of vanity.

In love,
cj

Again - it's not about me keeping the commandments - it's about Christ IN ME! It should always be about Christ's works and not our own - otherwise not only will you have dead faith but you'll also have dead works!

Good luck with your wonderful ability in keeping all the commandments perfectly there JayT - you're gonna need it ;)

God judges us by our hearts. It does no good to do righteous acts on the outside when inside we're full of gluttony, greed, anger, sloth, pride, envy and sloth. Only God knows our hearts which is exactly how Jesus knew the hearts of the Pharisees even though their outsides looked clean. :)

If we've accepted Christ as our saviour, God does NOT judge us.

Christ takes our place.

Christ is the perfect Man.
And Jesus told us to be perfect, just as He was.

Trying to preach the gospel to men by presenting them with God's 10 commandments is foolishness.
Then the Bible is foolishness, because it is written: The Law of the Lord is PERFECT...converting the soul...", (Psalms 19:7)

Believers are not commanded to preach about the ten commandments to the unsaved, believers are commanded to preach the saving gospel, and only the saving gospel to unsaved men.
Romans 3:31 "Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we [establish] the law." The word: establish , in the Greek means....tp present.

To do something else (to preach something else) is to reject God and His ordained way.
without the knowledge of what sin is...one does not need Jesus.

Who here can tell us in one sentence what the saving gospel is?
There is no one sentence, that explains what the gospel of Jesus Christ is....otherwise, there would have been no need for the rest of the Bible.

Think of a situation where a man is dying quickly,..... what would you say to this one in just a few seconds that would allow Him to hear and believe and be saved?
God does not work that way.
Even the thief on the cross, took days...before he died....allowing satan to test him.

Posted this the other topic that prattles on about the law....seems to be VERY appropiate here as well...

"Oh, fooolish Galatians! What magician has hypnotized you and cast an evil speelon you? For you used tosee themeaning of Christ's death as clearly as I waved a placard before you with a picture of Christ dying on the cross. Let me ask you one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by trying to keep the Jewish laws? Of course not, forthe Holy Spirit came upon you only after you heard about Christ and trusted Him to save you. Then have you gone completely crazy? For if trying to obey the Jewish laws never gave you spiritual life in the first place, why do you think that trying to obey them now will make you stronger Christians?" ...Galatian 3:1-3, The Living Bible

I don't believe anyone was talking about Jewish law.
I think that the conversation was involving the Law of God....the 10 commandments(Exodus 20:3-17).

You know, the ones Christ wrote out Himself, on Mt Sinai ?

The same ones Jesus said to keep....IF...a person loves HIM (John 14:5).
Of course not, forthe Holy Spirit came upon you only after you heard about Christ and trusted Him to save you. Then have you gone completely crazy?
Have you read where those who keep the commandments 'get' the Holy Spirit ?
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. the condition is....keep the commandments, 'first'....and then.....
14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

AGAIN.....?
Acts 5:32 "And we are his witnesses of these things; and [so is] also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath [given to them that obey him]".
The condition ?
Holy Spirit...given to those.....that obey Him.
For if trying to obey the Jewish laws never gave you spiritual life in the first place, why do you think that trying to obey them now will make you stronger Christians?"
Again we are not talking about Jewish Laws.
Forget the Jewish Laws, and concentrate on the 10 commandments, (Exodus 20:3-17).
The essence here is....once a person accepts Jesus Christ, into their lives, the evidence results in keeping all the 10 commandments of God.
BECAUSE....if a person does not...keep the commandments, they know nor Jesus Christ....as scripture says:
John 2:3 "And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him".
