Romans 15:8 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:
15:9 And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.
15:10 And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.
15:11 And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people.
15:12 And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.
15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Paul says God is a God of hope — which means those who trust Christ always have reason to be full of hope. Do you trust Christ? Think about it. Don't just plug thru life without giving Jesus and the Holy Spirit an opportunity to fill you with God's hope. It's there, now do your part thru prayer asking to receive His hope. God has done His part in supplying hope, now do your part and receive it.

He also says God can change our discouraged hearts so we abound with hope. Remember, the Word of God is alive and filled with hope. If you're discouraged, you're not studying God's Word to you each and every day. Sure it's work, nothing that's worth a happy and healthy heart comes without work in the Word.

When we turn our hearts to trust Jesus and His promises, the Holy Spirit will, in time, cause us to abound in hope. It won't be over night, it will be progressive as you faithfully study the Scriptures. God put them there for a reason Child of God.

My sweet brother in Christ Chopper, it is experience through our need that we find the God of hope for our lives. The very thing that will crush those of the world draws us closer to Him Who loves us best.

A wonderful singer Wintley Phipps brought forth these words: “It is in the quiet crucible of your personal private sufferings that your noblest dreams are born and God's greatest gifts are given in compensation of what you've been through."

This brought to mind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego that would not bow to the king’s image in Dan 3:15, and made the following statement as to Who their God of Hope was.
Dan 3:17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
Dan 3:18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

Job once said in Job 7:6 My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, and are spent without hope. Well, my wonderful Father has a way of reaching us even when we are the lowest in our lives, restores us, and becomes the standard of all good towards us which believe. Rom 8:28. It is well with my soul.

Blessings in Christ Jesus. :wave2

Thank you my very knowledgeable friend Eugene. Your way with words and Scriptures are so vast and easy to understand. Your heart is certainly displayed for all to know that you deeply love our Lord and those in your sphere of witness.
Thank you for such a beautiful addition to this thread.

Love You,
Chopper

This was a weird thing for my husband to say the other day, but he asked me how is it that when we need certain things, like car repair for an example, that we can not afford that the money always seems to appear in our time of need. I had to remind him it comes from hope, trust and faith in God who supplies all our needs. Our hope is in the Lord for all of Gods promises are yea and amen as we walk by those things unseen, but knowing God is always in control.

Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (That's a covenant promise)
2Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Psalms 31:19 Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men! 20 Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues. 21 Blessed be the LORD: for he hath showed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city. 22 For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee. 23 O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer. 24 Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.
