Romans 15:8 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:
15:9 And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.
15:10 And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.
15:11 And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people.
15:12 And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.
15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Paul says God is a God of hope — which means those who trust Christ always have reason to be full of hope. Do you trust Christ? Think about it. Don't just plug thru life without giving Jesus and the Holy Spirit an opportunity to fill you with God's hope. It's there, now do your part thru prayer asking to receive His hope. God has done His part in supplying hope, now do your part and receive it.
He also says God can change our discouraged hearts so we abound with hope. Remember, the Word of God is alive and filled with hope. If you're discouraged, you're not studying God's Word to you each and every day. Sure it's work, nothing that's worth a happy and healthy heart comes without work in the Word.
When we turn our hearts to trust Jesus and His promises, the Holy Spirit will, in time, cause us to abound in hope. It won't be over night, it will be progressive as you faithfully study the Scriptures. God put them there for a reason Child of God.
