What is a troll?

Some folks are afraid to answer... questions...
That's so very true. Many of us resort to hiding behind quoted scripture.

yes you do ... on topic or off :)
Answering questions allows others to know you..
oh I avoid topics or certain questions. I don't usually post in the subjects of eternal security threads. I have before and I have a position just its not much of an topic I care to debate forever, same with the the threads on hell. though I stay in those a little longer.

that would mean they might be wrong if they really wanted to know. its hard when we aren't challenged in church but only here. peer pressure is a factor to consider. peer pressure can be both bad and good.

I try not to involve myself with "evolutionary" discussions. Or Trinity stuff.

do trolls hijack threads?
they can, I could be considered a troll with my way of doing that. but I think its just they way I am with posting not meant to stir up strife.

Hey.... Have you guys seen the latest keyboard from Intel?

On a more serious note, I DO consider it trolling when people ask dumb-sounding questions...... Oh, like, "How tall was Jesus?" or "What color do you think His sandals were?"

It's like they are starved for attention, and have to say SOMETHING.... ANYTHING.... just so they will be noticed.

I do not consider any question "dumb" except a blasphemous question which I do not like.

I'm off to walk the dog.

Its whe people fish by trailing a baited line along behind a boat via wifi. When they get a notification on their fishing app, they know they got some fish. It's the new craze.

To me, a troll (in the internet sense) is someone who incites a discussion, or better yet, a debate, on a topic they actually care little about or none at all. They are seeking the sense of gratification that comes when manipulating others. A troll seeks control rather than information. A very trivial means to self-validation.
