My bad guy was the first grade. He owned it.Your bad guy flunked out of first grade.
And was the school uniform a pink tutu?My bad guy was the first grade. He owned it.
Yes. But only for the wimps in class like Rollo Tamasi. He made them wear them....until the seventh grade. And was the school uniform a pink tutu?
This is an idea that I will never be able to accept. The thing that was "baptized" (or "sanctified" or whatever other word people care to use), was not an innocent day off work when people gave children presents and told them stories about reindeer with red noses, but an idolatrous sun -worship festival. The Bible clearly states, both in the Old and New Testaments, that idolatry is a sin. Can the church "baptize" something that God has declared to be a sin? Not only is idolatry called a sin, but it is called an abomination. If the church can "baptize" one abomination, why not others? Why don't we just "baptize" homosexuality? That would solve many problems for many people. While we're at it, why don't we just baptize all sin, thereby doing away with any reason for God to judge us and saving the entire world?
The fact is that the church has no authority to "baptize" any sin, and never had any authority to "baptize" the Saturnalia or the Birthday of the Invincible Sun, or any Pagan fertility celebrations or Samhain or anything else.

Matthew 18:18
Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. ? Maybe we can ?
What's that got to do with Jethro and his hang up for pink tutus?Christmas is better because that is when we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.I am not thinking about any gifts at all... nada. I consider Halloween a pagan holiday so I do not celebrate it.

Some Christians think that if you take away all the rules for Christians that is how you set God's people free from sin. The erroneous thinking being that it is the rules that make Christians sin. That verse is talking about something entirely different. We cannot take something that God declares to be sin and make it not be sinful any more. If we could do that, then we could just "loose" everything and abolish sin. Then everybody would be saved.

Yes, what a boring distraction that would be from all the fun of the lights, food, family, and presents. Most people/family have off then (I don't) so when I can get off its a midwinter gathering from my stance and nobody brings Christ into the conversation usually.
Only if you put them up wrong.People's decorations are along the same line as firecrackers in the summer.
This is one reason why I don't get convicted about Christmas being a pagan holiday that we should not celebrate. We seem to not really know where the origins of it came from anymore. That knowledge has been lost to history as evidenced by all the differing stories about it. I was told the Christmas tree is Luther's invention. He saw the stars shining through the branches of a tree one night, and 'poof', Christmas trees for everyone--more seasonal work for the drifting fireworks vendor. The rest of the family likes them, but I could do without as I think a tree inside the house makes no sense to me unless one is into arbology and likes to raise them. But from my understandings, the trees and logs and so forth reminded the pagans of greener times as the sun went south and burning them beckoned the sinking sun back which, mysteriously, it always came back up again.
so when all the banter is said and done lets check the pagans amongst us - have a look at the calendars/Diaries in your house and see if the week begins on a Sunday or Monday - have a look and lets know - any comments - twinc
