What is God doing in my life right now?

I wish I really knew since I am not really sure at this point.

I have no job, and my wife is getting frustrated seeing as she's the breadwinner at 8 months pregnant and having multiple sclerosis. Everything I apply for either doesn't call me back or has found someone else when I call them. I recently lost my job because I was a seasonal employee and the season ended. I was there for 3 months and was hoping that I would have been kept on.

Before my latest job I was unemployed for 8 months after being in a temporary position for 10 months. I am having to take these temp type jobs because part-time and full- time jobs will not hire me.

Problem is now that there aren't even any temp type jobs out there currently. I have over 50 applications out in 2 weeks for a myriad of jobs and no prospects.

I wish I knew what God was doing, but He's been silent.

Are you sure He is being silent. Maybe you just aren't listening enough. Sometimes we need to slow down and just listen to what He may be trying to tell you. Of course He could be preparing you for something. But only He knows what that is. Your duty at this point is to continually be in prayer, and deligently listen for His answer.

I have been continually in prayer and listening for His answer, yet no answer comes.

In the mean time I have my wife who is frustrated because there are bills to pay and food that must be bought. She doesn't make enough to do both.

Have you considered applying for food stamps, or wic? Actually, you wife would have to apply for wic, but this would at least help until you are back on your feet.

I don't usually recommend this kind of thing, but I find myself in a somewhat similar situation. I am under-employed (don't make enough to pay the bills) and my wife stays home and homeschools our kids. I have been trying to get a business going while at the same time looking for additional work. Thus far nothing has been coming. We are on food stamps and wic, which is our only means of buying food at this point. We constantly pray for God to provide income enough that we will not even qualify for government assistance.

We have applied for foodstamps, but because of a pay stub of hers that we can't verify as to what it was (well, not an explanation that they would accept) we're not sure when or even if we'll be getting foodstamps.

My wife works for Olive Garden as a hostess a day or two a week and because the restaurant where she works won an award, all the employees were given a $50 gift card at the beginning of the month. The paystub for that shows that she received a non-cash award of $140. We know that we didn't get that non-cash award and she was only given $50. So foodstamps wants verification of what that pay stub was. Her manager is unable to do that and it has to go through payroll. Payroll told us that foodstamps themselves has to send in the verification form. They will not give us the information needed. Foodstamps says they will not do it for us because it's our responsibility to get the needed verification.

I finally got someone on the phone at foodstamps that would send out the verification form needed, but they're doing this as a courtesy and will do it when they do it. As of yesterday, the form hasn't been received by my wife's payroll department. I called foodstamps yesterday to see if it was sent out and was told that they are doing this as a courtesy again and that yes it has been sent out as of Monday (which means Tuesday when it actually went out).

I just don't have high hopes for it getting done. We were denied foodstamps before because they said we didn't turn in information asked for when we had faxed it to them and even got a confirmation number. They said that we didn't fax it in and that the confirmation number means nothing.

My wife is on WIC, but that doesn't give us near enough food, it's not even enough for just her.

Sounds like you have been put through the ringer. One thing I have learned with dealing with the Human Services Dept in certain counties is that more often than not you should just go into the office and hand the requested info to a worker. Of course this is easier said than done depending on how big your county is.

Still being put through the ringer.

Found out yesterday that all I had to do was post that paystub with a note at the bottom explaining what it is and that it was a one time thing. There is no need for verification from the payroll department.

Today on the website there is a notice being sent out that I still need to provide 12 weeks of child support paid out even though I have already done so because I included 3 copies of printouts of personal checks from my bank including the back where it shows the New York State childsupport stamp and that it's for deposit only.

They accepted personal checks before and never gave me issues.

I swear they make it as hard as possible so you just give up!
