What is God's eternal purpose?

His Glory is revealed in all that He does. In His every act, in His every word and in His eternal character His Glory is revealed.

That sounds good, but you are avoiding the issue. Was it God's will to Glorify His self in adam's sin ? Did He create Adam specifically to bring sin and death into the world to accomplish His Eternal Purpose in Christ ?

Rev 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

jd

God created Adam knowing that he would sin because God knew that Adams sin could be overcome.

Answer my question with a yes or no and quit the duplicity.

Did He create Adam specifically to bring sin and death into the world to accomplish His Eternal Purpose in Christ ?

No.

"Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man."
-James 1:13 KJV

It was not God’s purpose for Adam to sin.

Yet it was perhaps God's purpose for man to overcome sin and thus be considered worthy of the high calling to which God originally declared for unfallen man......

jd:

Yes He did, so you don't know what you are talking about. This Earth, this World, was Created for the Lord Jesus Christ and sin saving redemptive Purpose. Eph 3:8-11

8Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

9And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

10To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

11According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

So in reality you deny that adam was created in order that God may manifest The unsearchable riches of Christ.

Until you understand this, all your posting about God's Eternal Purpose is nothing but human wisdom, based upon natural understanding.

Were someone to place a gun to my head and asks me to tell them what God's purpose in His creative actions were I would have to say that Jesus, the Anointed One is the answer. I believe that the scriptures reveal to the reader that Jesus is the embodiment of God's reason and creative purposes.

That High Calling was never in Adam, even when he was unfallen, it was in Christ !

Phil 3:14

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus

In the greek, The High Calling has the definite article, so its the one and only High Calling of The God.

And its in Christ, not adam, never was, never will be !

And Adam would have found it in Christ had he not fallen. Jesus Christ is also the second person of the Trinity. Adam would have found it in him had he just refused to eat of the tree of knowledge. It's the same tree that kills and blinds us today.

You have missed the point. Christ's Purpose before Adam was ever created, was to redeem sinners, chosen sinners. And Adam did know Christ, In fact, Christ came out of Adam's seed according to the Flesh. Lk 3:23-38

Christ was revealed to Adam and Eve that Christ was their seed Gen 3:15
