What is loyalty? I think some people define loyalty as fighting for someone whether they are in the right or in the wrong. I don’t agree with that. I don’t think it is an act of loyalty if you fight for someone when you know they are in the wrong. I think a better definition of loyalty might be that I would never knowingly lead another person astray.

What do you think?

.

Jesus Christ is the most loyal Friend one can ever have...
He never leaves us or forsakes us (Hebrews 13:5)

John 15:13-15
Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.

On our part as brides of Christ, loyalty is staying faithful to Him in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, till death do us eternal life.

In earthly relationships, loyalty is spiritually, emotionally or literally supporting family or friends in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, in poverty or wealth.... and that includes counseling and helping them to do the right things and to avoid the bad.

Proverbs 11:25
A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.

Proverbs 17:17
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

Proverbs 18:24
A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Proverbs 27:6
Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

Proverbs 27:17
As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.

I would think devotion, and the best example I can think of is Ruth's devotion to Naomi. :yes

I agree with Tina, that the perfect example of loyalty is God's loyalty towards us. Its His unconditional love for us, how he loves us and cares for us all the time, in every situation.
