What is marriage

Marriage is free.
Gen.2
[24] Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and cleaves to his wife, and they become one flesh.

Marriage is total - The woman gives herself to the man and vice versa.

Gen.2
[24] Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and cleaves to his wife, and they become one flesh.

Faithful - Forsaking all others, till death.

Matt 19
[6] So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder."

Fruitful - Gen.1
[22] And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth."

Jesus Christ came that we might have life and have it abundantly. A part of that abundant life is free, total, faithful, and fruitful marriage. Let him redeem your relationships.

Marriage is a conditional covenant whereby a man and woman are joined together to one another, forsaking all others, until the death of one or both parties.

As for 'one flesh' ...

One flesh, other than with the woman Eve herself, is the sexual union between a man and woman, married or not.

As for "put asunder"...

Sadly, it is quite possible for man to put asunder what God has joined together.

From the Bible, marriage is the union of one man and one or more women into a relationship where children are to be raised.

Modern marriage is the union of two people into a union based on happiness and the possibility of children.

Fornication is not unity. sorry.

Actually know it is not. The marriage is stil there whether they acknowledge it or not if they have been truly married in God's eyes. That is why it has such catastrophic effects on the psychy of the couple and the children.

Not sure what you mean....if you mean that sex between a man and woman, married or not isnt 'one flesh' or 'one body' ..then it is you who is erroneous friend..
Or do you not know that he being joined to a harlot is one body?
For He says, The two shall be one flesh.
(1Co 6:16)

Paul says its the same and compares it to our Lords words about marriage.
The facts are the facts, friend....PAUL shows its the same...

Sorry again, but Pauls words say what they say in the greek....
I provided the greek to prove my assertion....you provided nothing except your opinion.
“Unmarried†- 1 Corinthians 7
"Let not man put asunder/separate"

SHOW me scripture that backs your opinion....that its "still there" when PAUL has shown that she has put asunder her marriage.

Ah, now we have an "expert" in scripture who's kick and denomination seems to be preaching divorce. It never ceases to amaze me how many twistings in distortions of truth there are to fit someone's lifestyle or past.

Sorry, chap. youve clearly misinterpreted.
I dont preach divorce...I defend those who are divorced for scriptural reasons and those who are remarried already.

I dont play off like Im God, changing the intent and meaning of scripture to pretend like ALL divorce and ALL remarriage is forbidden.

It never ceases to amaze me how some folks will preach something, then not offer a single word of evidence to back their assertions....those who cant seem to refute the evidence that is provided to them.

Do you have any refutation to offer here....can you prove what Ive shown as errant?
Do you call Paul liar when HE used words with the meanings Ive shown?

Your beef is with Paul, friend....HE is the one who has called this woman in 1 cor 7:10-11 'UNmarried" (Agamos / ARAMOC)...not I....and HE is the one who has said she has 'put asunder' ("if she "depart"...same word as Christs "put asunder") her husband by leaving the marriage.

God bless.
I hope when next you post here you will offer refutation to my asertions. :)

Marriage is about unconditional love, respect, understanding, friendship, trust, and longevity, with Jesus at the nucleus of the relationship with much faith and hope.

I believe I have found this in my special someone, my husband of 19 yrs. who still makes me giggle with gladness. :smt008
