Every Christian trusts the Lord and believes Him in some capacity. The trouble is, most do not trust Him or believe Him correctly.

You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:82

WHAT IS THE TRUTH?

The Truth that the Believer must have, is that the Cross and the Resurrection, which speak of the Finished Work of Christ, pertains not only to our initial Salvation experience, but as well to our everyday Victory over the world, the flesh, and the Devil. The Believer must understand the Truth that he was in Christ when Christ died on the Cross, was in Christ when He was buried, was in Christ when he was raised from the dead, and continues to be in Christ as He is now exalted at the Right Hand of the Father (Roman 6:3-5; Ephesians 2:6). Consequently, if Christ defeated Satan, that means the Christian has defeated Satan. If Christ atoned for all sin, then no sin can attach itself to the Believer, that is, if the Believer keeps trusting Christ (John 14:20). If Christ is a Law-keeper, than the Believer is a Law-keeper. If Christ is victorious, then the Believer is victorious.

The Believer must understand this, trust in this, believe this, and act upon it, even on a daily basis. This is what Jesus meant by us taking up the Cross daily and following Him (Luke 9:23).

This is the "Truth" which we must learn, act upon, and continue to act upon, which guarantees the help of the Holy Spirit.

If the Believer does not know and understand this "Truth" to simply tell him to "trust Jesus," will really not help him that much. It is the same as telling him that he must "get in the Altars." Without knowing this Truth, he won't really know why he is in the Altars.

In fact, he will be attempting to trust the Lord to do something for him, which in fact, has already been done. He will be attempting to have Faith in God for something, that's actually already taking place. He will be attempting to ask the Lord for something, which in reality has already been brought about.

From Jimmy Swaggart Bible Commentary

1. How can we renew our minds to truth and summit ourselves to fight the fight of faith to trust and believe?

2. How can the Believers will be swallowed up so that the Lord's will be done in us?

This is an excellent thread iLOVE, one that I've read several times to get what you are teaching here. I commend you for the deep spiritual truths that are here. As I was studying your post, a couple of verses popped into my mind. The first is....Galatians 2:20 "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."

This verse goes along with what you posted....
(John 14:20). If Christ is a Law-keeper, than the Believer is a Law-keeper. If Christ is victorious, then the Believer is victorious.
.... You have impressed upon our minds that because of the great work of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ Jesus, the Gospel, we now are IN Jesus Who is IN the Father.

The other verse that came to my mind was....Colossians 3:1 "If ye then be risen with Christ, [and we are] seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God."

You said....
he Believer must understand this, trust in this, believe this, and act upon it, even on a daily basis. This is what Jesus meant by us taking up the Cross daily and following Him
.... In my mind, to follow Jesus is to realize that we are IN Jesus and He still has work to be done in this sinful world. In our little sphere of witness, since we are IN Jesus and are following Him, we need to be alert thru out the day to something or someone who needs Christ's attention, and then DO IT!!

So, thank you for your inspiring thread. My spirit is refreshed from pondering the implications of what you posted. Lots of Truth there my friend, lots!!

For me, it was the "instant freedom" that I felt inside, the Love of God in Christ that washed over me and was in me, the moment I believed. That was "instant change."

It was later that I learned from sectarianism, that other believers would try to diminish my faith and trust in Jesus, by trying to condemn me to potential hell. To cast doubts on my salvation if I didn't believe "their stories" and "their versions" of the scriptures.

There came a certain day, when I remembered my first Love. And threw aside those who would condemn me. I found, again, the freedom I always had from the beginning.

No believer can say they are free in Christ unless and until they are convinced that HE really Is our Savior who Saves us.

There are plenty of nay sayers, and ALL of them are 'in the church.'

How can anyone be free indeed and think they won't be saved?

John 8:
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Other challenges will come with that freedom. And the Son doesn't make everyone that free, granted, or we wouldn't have as much DOUBT in our midst, as we do.

The Truth that sets me free is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When I received by faith my Master Jesus, He caused me to be free from sin and death. To be free from the bondage of sin is the Truth.

Hey Bill Taylor. I hope you know that I love you very much. I don't want to derail this thread so I won't say a lot. I want to know how to pray for you. The last I knew, you were confined to your bed. You are such a special Brother in Jesus, and I know that you're hurting a lot. I'm in hopes that others will read this and we can have a bunch of folk who love and respect you Pray, pray, and pray some more.

I hope this little love note encourages you. Your life has been a hard "row to hoe" at times and I want you to know that I admire the warrior part of you that keeps you fighting the good fight for your Commander Christ Jesus. One day the fight will be over, and you'll hear those wonderful words from your Commander, "Well done Soldier of the Cross, come and inherit your blessings and rest for a while.

I spend equal amounts of time in bed and in my Electric Recliner these days. The a is keep my supply of Opioids full sand I try not to take any more than I really need.

Ok Buddy. I'm praying for you, that our Lord would extend to you a triple portion of Grace to make your days and nights a little more bearable. I love you, you dried out old corn cob. :lol :hug

Death. The knowledge of my death has set me free. To know that NO work I might do in the flesh will ever be justified in his sight or considered righteous has set me free. Death has done its work in me, I have accepted my sin unto death, and by that, death can no more threaten me with death, for I am already dead: And in Death, I am free indeed. Free, to Live unto Christ.
