Yes, what is 'written and engraven on stones' is symbolic of a 'ministration of death, a needful death, as we need to die to the selfishness that rest within the natural stony heart. God is going to take away the stony heart. (ref: 2 Cor 3:7)ozell said:Jesus Christ is the chief corner stone...
the body of Jesus Christ replaces the stones that are a'ministration of death...
The sabbath, a shadow...is no longer needed as the real SABBATH - Jesus Christ if our REST!
- Colossians 2:16-17
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink,
or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ
the stones had the commandments written on them.
God will give us a 'new heart' a heart wherein dwells righteousness. (1 Tim 1:9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, KJV) My hope is in SOMETHING BETTER than laws made for the lawless and disobedient! Though I do confess that I needed the 'written/engraven' stones to convict me of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and they do a good work in fulfilling the purpose for which they were given.ozell said:you are saying that the Lord replaced thou shall not steal and thou shall not kill, etc.
Wonderful question...Jesus IS the SABBATH...the gospel SABBATH, that fulfills the law as written on stones and does away with it's earthliness, no more to be remembered. As needful and as good as the stones are as a schoolmaster, when it's purpose is accomplished, they perish and are replaced by the law of HIS LOVE which guides and directs every thought, and every action of one's life..... Praise the Lord!ozell said:listen to the question again what law did Jesus replace?
How did Jesus replace the sabbath the 7th day of the week?
we still have a 7th day of the week.
ozell said:why do you quote colossians? whose judging?
Colossians tells us not to judge others by what they eat or drink or about SABBATH days. These are all a 'SHADOW of things to come'....Christ is the real thing....the real SABBATH! So, no I DO NOT judge you or others whether you/they keep the sabbath as given by Moses or whether you believe every day is SABBATH...that is between you and GOD. Forgive me if I infer such!
My hope is to witness to what I believe about Jesus Christ our SABBATH REST!
