What makes Christianity so appealing?

But what draws people to Christianity? The cross?
I doubt it. But then those who are really suffering in this life might be drawn by the cross. " I really do know your pain".
Sometimes it's other people . A partner. A friend. A family member.
If I didn't have a good experience as a child, I may not be a Christian now. As a child, I was drawn to the mystery. The aura. The atmosphere. Incense. Some Latin at first. Soul warming organ hymns. The Mass.
Church wasn't really dull for me. It was almost an escape into another world.

Jesus in your heart we find
Love of the Father
And Mankind
These two loves.
To us impart.
Divine Love.
In a human heart.

Such hymn lyrics stay in my mind forever. Such beauty. Such clarity. Such crisp use of language.

The cross is a paradox. What religion has its leader on a cross? Being tortured to death?
Yet that is what makes Christianity so fascinating. Paradoxes.
You need to die in order to live.
He who is first will be last.
Leaders need to serve.
Humility is power.

Christianity has many things that draw people to it.
One of the greatest is that of a Christ like life. Seeing someone that one knows struggling to live out there faith dispite there problems.
Another is talking and discussing what one believes and having to justify what one believes.
The question, ' What evidence do you have for that belief?' is very powerful.

Ultimately it is reading about Jesus in the gospels or in a sermon that breaks down barriers to believing.

The reality of Christianity isn't the offer of an eternal life.
It is the offer of forgiveness of All sins, the promise of eternity for what? A life time of following rules, rite etc as Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism etc offers.

No it is given freely on our repentance and humbly accepting what is so freely given.

something...truly other-worldly, genuinely counter-cultural, in any culture. The miracles...go to the core of the faith. God becomes Man, dies for creation, and offers a way out of sin, satan, self, death, and the world...

2,000 or so years later.
