Our brethren are given opportunity to come out of the harlot or else suffer the plagues she will experience; i.e. that is entering great tribulation.saw this (various about bill of divorce to Israel) many times in the past,
but
until I hovered the cursor over Jeremiah 3:8 and read it (again) I don't remember realizing that later
the gentiles worldwide play the harlot (RE Revelation, 'all' the 'churches'/daughters of the great harlot)
and
i think are destroyed by Yhwh , not given a bill of divorce ... ... ...
a remnant (small part of world's population, as it is written also of Noah's time, and s and g) is spared in Yhwh's mercy, as He indicates in the first three chapters of Revelation in the letters to the messengers/or angels of the 7 churches.
Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
I believe the representative church of Revelation Chapter Two is the Thyatira chucrh we read of in and the angel or messenger to it was its pastor.
Rev 2:22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
Rev 2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
Consequence of unbelief or not abiding in Christ is oft chastisement even to the sin of death; not loss of salvation. E.g. Moses, because you believed Me not, you cannot enter the promised land of Canaan and get up to that mount and die.
Now Moses was saved for sure according to 1 Corinthians 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
BUT
Num 20:12 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.
Deut 32:50 . . die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people:
Deut 32:51 Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah-Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel.
Deut 32:52 Yet thou shalt see the land before thee; but thou shalt not go thither unto the land which I give the children of Israel.
The things we read in the Old Testament were examples or types of those things to come.
1 Cor 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. The realization of these are given in Revelation Chapters Two and Three as Jesus is judging the church as He walks among the candlesticks in Rev 1:13. The result is that which we read in those two chapters from Ephesus leaving its first love to Laodicea being neither hot or cold.
My thoughts.
