1. Be Vigilant
a. Watch

2. Be Diligent (Jude 20-21)
2a. Make every effort to grow in faith
a. Spend time in the Word of God
b. Spend time talking with God
c. Keep yourself in the love of God (be being obedient)
d. Wait expectantly for His return
e. Share the good news (Jude 23)

3. Be Confident
a. The Lord will keep us from falling out of a relationship with Him
b. No one can snatch us out of His hands (John 10: 28-29)

ok. i agree with most of this but the signs.the signs are for the jews then and vengeance agaisnt the temple(and early christians)if we take the modern view of it . we loose what the aod meant.

that we cant do. there has been and always has been false sheprhards in gods people. there was in isreal and now so in the church.

Thanks for this. Reminding myself that The Lord could return soon--and will definitely return eventually--helps reduce my sinful behaviors somewhat (not as much as it should....). As much as I used to dislike End Times preaching (I was raised liberal PCUSA...they don't touch that), I now find that realizing that our time on Earth is limited, and Earth's existence is limited, too, helps add a bit of urgency and intensity to my faith.

Thank you for the reply - Look at Jude 1:1 it says "to "those" who are called, sanctified by God the Father and preserved in Jesus Christ" This Epistle is written to believers - it's the Jewish believers, but none the less it was to believers and we can take something from this today as with ALL books of the Bible!

When apostasy arises, when false teachers emerge, when the truth of God is attacked, it is time to fight for the faith. Only believers of his letter, Jude focuses on the believers' common salvation but then feels compelled to challenge them to contend for their faith. The danger is real. False teachers have crept into the Church, turning God's Grace into unbounded license to do as they please. Jude reminds such men of God's past dealings with unbelieving Israel, disobedient angels, and wicked Sodom and Gomorrah. In the face of such dangers Christians should not be caught off guard. The challenge is great but so is the God of the Bible who is able to keep us from stumbling.

sir the earth isnt destroyed but is remade. the earth did suffer under the flood and many species died but it did survive the flood. God is going to restore what the earth was before the fall. that is and has been his plan.

god never called cration bad or adam and eve bad before they sinned. in fact he called it all GOOD.

i know that, but some say it like this. we are getting close, we are that generation that will be the ones to see isreal set free or raptured away. the ac will come.
i mean my pastor(godly man btw) has preached christ's return is imminant because of the arab spring.

that is off. we SHOULDNT use new sensationlism to show scriptures. the names for places long gone must be taken into consideration with these prophecies.

ie if its lebanon., it cant be modern lebanon. that may not be the same region.

Surly we could all go around picking out little sticks and stones from the meaning of the post in general but why? It's a valid question because it shows immaturity in the Lord. ok. so you dont think ones end times view affects how they witness? i do. seen it here. and i have listen to a pastor preach on it. some churches dont even do food pantries.

there are ton of christians who are ignorant on the word. i had a friend whom is godly. he didnt know that there was a bodily ressurection.he read it in a book on it. i told him i knew that from reading the bible and no pastor showed me that.

we dont die and stay in heaven forever. yet that is what most churches teach.

the church shouldnt retreat in these times , instead should empower its members to deal with false doctrines.ie evolution, oec, and also other heresies. ie prosperity gospel.

sadly, for the most part i have to teach myself. i come from a jw background and asked.i read up on this stuff and some sermons on it. i then had to defend the end times belief on myself that is why i say i know what i know.

like my church would allow the sages to be taught in the church. sadly No.

by being aware of where the church has gone wrong in the end, one can see easily how it is to go astray. many a churches have and while not salvinical its important.

would you suggest that i dont point out heresies of these nature?

the law coming back in the millenium.we have a poster here to does believe that.
i met one and may had to minister with him. but that didnt work out as he is going where we would have and im not. godly man but man the confusion it would have caused. ones end time bias affects how one sees the beattitudes and also how one views the gospel itself it times.

im amil and if did teach, i have told the leaders that is my bias.they said no problem. not salvinical. but if i taught on grace and so forth and the change nature. it would come out.

Thank you Jason, I'm not at liberty to suggest why or how anyone will witness to another. I hope though that it's out of love and the spirit. I'm sure many Church's today teach doctrines that teach this and that about the end times. But this why not the point I was trying to make. His return can be today in a believers life because there is no promise of tomorrow. We all have an appointment with death and the point I was trying to make is to be more Christ like and watchful, waiting for His return. This is not about when the rapture will happen, how it will happen, are we living in the last days. My point is this... Watch as though He's coming back today but live more Christlike, as if you had another thousands years.

His return can be today in a believers life because there is no promise of tomorrow. i prefer to teach that we ought to look into the word.Not that im perfect or consistent.

too many at time look at isreal and what goes on around her rather then the Lord. if one focus on grace and mercy and what love is in him. he will keep us. watching for his return. when he returns we will know.

i should do another thread on what they were to watch for then in first century and then you would see why i say what im saying.

btw. we cant be more christlike its backwards.we are christlike, we let it out when we humble ourselves. we are perfected the moment we repent and it comes out when god is ready to bring it out.

we can start on the ressurected nature . im game.

christ came to bring the dead to life, not make man better. we were dead in our sins and trespasses but now are quickened to life.

i dont consider the end trivial. in china men died over campings ideas. they waiting for the rapture and when it didnt happen they were found and imprisoned for being a christian.some of them may have left the faith.

others buying to mr.lindsey's books have then seen him lie and decieve. they either left the faith or learned the hardway. that was avoidable if they did know.

do you remember the book by him the late great planet earth? he said in that book christ would come in 1988. a time? really basic bible knowlegde would have stopped that cold. yet many fell for it.2

Keep on keeping on sound better? Ever see these that withdraw from everybody and everything becoming reclusive to the point of becoming worthless. Oh the Lord is coming soon, and so I'll just sell all I have, sit down here and wait for Him. Such were some of those of Heaven's Gate and Jonestown.

No we are to keep doing those things commanded, and using the gifts given until we are caught up to be with Jesus forever. My thoughts.
