I am in a discussion about Jesus apparently not being God and man and I remember a verse that says he is but I cannot remember where to find it

Thank you this was very helpfulA passage of scripture that may help . The Word .
John Chapter 1
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2The same was in the beginning with God.
3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Well that is pretty close now isn't it? Thanks for the helpI can’t think of a single verse, but maybe this passage will help:
Php 2:5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,
Php 2:6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,
Php 2:7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. (ESV)
There is no place recorded in Scripture where Jesus specifically says it in those words, but it is demonstrated in Scripture. In many of these places we can read about how the Pharisees and other teachers of the law wanted to kill Him because of what they perceived as blasphemy, claiming to be God. Here are a couple examples.I am in a discussion about Jesus apparently not being God and man and I remember a verse that says he is but I cannot remember where to find it
Thank you everyone for your help the discussion I was in didn't last long because the person was banned for spreading heresy but in the discussion I referenced your posts and it was very helpful thank you
I would have prefered that they weren't banned as I hoped to get through to them but sadly the admins had other ideas they don't tolerate heresy and he even came back under a different account and was banned a second timeThey were banned for spreading heresy so you could not have open honest discussion with them?. Thats sad. Freedom of speech is important.
Well they didn't come seeking answers they came preaching their own personal agenda they even said they got banned from reddit and from a place called CARM basically they have been banned from several places already. Though to be fair I wouldn't really know if what they were preaching was heresy persay it was just them preaching that Jesus isn't God and I have seen some people teach this who are very devout ChristiansThat's sad how someone come back obviously seeking answers in an argument and debate and got banned. They may have thought you were spreading heresy as well beause it makes no logical sense if they got got banned for spreading heresy if they believed you was trying to preach to them the truth.
Seems like the self righteous are trying to dictate your discussions with others.

But even on here I have seen this spoken of and as far as I know you don't get banned for that honestly the admins were not to keen on his preaching though he also was not exactly polite about it either
Oh he had no intention of discussing it trust me but even so I wanted to try to reason with him but he just got banned very quickly not just because of what he was preaching but the way he was crude and slandered anyone who disagreedI guess depends on the situation, if someone was intentionally preaching Jesus is not God everywhere around the place rather than having a discussion about it then that could be seen as a trouble maker, yet if they having open discussion about it then that is a different story. I mean if someone started a thread and said they dont believe Jesus is God so lets discuss and have a debate about it, i would not see that as a problem.

Mabye we should have a containment board for them and their kind.I would have prefered that they weren't banned as I hoped to get through to them but sadly the admins had other ideas they don't tolerate heresy and he even came back under a different account and was banned a second time
Worldview has consequences. His contra Biblical worldview led to him doing faulty stuff. You have witnessed "trees bear fruit" in action.Oh he had no intention of discussing it trust me but even so I wanted to try to reason with him but he just got banned very quickly not just because of what he was preaching but the way he was crude and slandered anyone who disagreed
I have met some on there though that have slandered others and still didn't get banned so really I think it was what he was preaching that got him banned
Matthew 11:25-26, Jesus breaks into prayer, saying, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.”Well, I hope purists wake up and realize some day that the Bible wasn't written
to accommodate a child's IQ, rather, it was written to work with a mature IQ,
i.e. an IQ that can reason and add things up, so to speak.

Matthew 11:25-26, Jesus breaks into prayer, saying, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and
earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to
little children.”
wow, did not think of thatI think in time you'll discover that the "little children" in Jesus' prayer aren't toddlers,
adolescents, and/or teen-agers, rather, it's a figure of speech for neophytes in the Lord.
For example:
● 1Cor 3:1-2 . . And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto
carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for
hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
● Eph 4:11-14 . . And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some,
evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the
work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: till we all come in the unity of
the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure
of the stature of the fulness of Christ: that we henceforth be no more children, tossed to
and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and
cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.
● Heb 5:12-14 . . For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one
teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become
such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is
unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to
them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised
to discern both good and evil.
