I am newbie here and all I see so far is a bunch of gay bashing, fat man bashing and inquisitor self righteous pomp in the spirit of the early inquisition.

Have we as Christians forgot these important verses?

James 3:1

You soon wil learn to ignore certain people. Some people come to forums to ruffle feathers. Others just can't let something go and they'll post the same topic 30 times. It's quite annoying, yes, but there are some really good, loving people here. I've learned SO MUCH since coming to this particular forum. While I don't agree with everyone, I have the knowledge that I can always turn to my bible when in doubt of in times of need.

Well I am Christian that is 350 lbs and have gay friends.

I struggle with disorders of food and pray to be healed.

I just get so turned off by all the judgement coming from folks, especially when some are supposed to be mods. I have been in other boards with mods that were more neutral on topics but some still put me down because I assocciated with gay men. That is main reason I left those boards.

We are all sinners and constantly berating the gays and whatever else is just so stupid.

Of course gays know the opinion of the Church! Why do they need to be constantly reminded and put down.

Makes no sense to me.

On subway to work all I hear from the pulpit on AM radio is abortion bashing, gay bashing, and liberal bashing.

All judgemental stuff.

No kindness or friendliness.

Are we not supposed to reach out to the sinner and be friends instead of enemies?

No one is going to be converted and turned from sin by these methods of mean spiritedness and self righteous pomp.

All we do by cutting others down is drive them further from Bible and Jesus talk. It is bad way to evangelize and it is the predominant method I see coming from the leaders.

Above all else Jesus despised this kind of convertioning technique. Remeber the parable of the good samaritan and the pompous mans prayer versus the sinners prayer?

Jesus loves the humble that keep silent. Not the pompous with a blow horn saying you are worthless.

I think that one can usually tell the difference between "bashing" and a more compassionate claims that certain behaviours are sin. We need to at least have a forum to explain why we think that certain behaviours are indeed sinful - not all such discussion springs from dishonourable motives. There is certainly a fair bit of bashing in these forums, however.

Does the Bible say anywhere that Homosexuals and sexually immoral persons will not enter into heaven?

Does the Bible teach us to accept sin and live in it?

Does the Bible teach not to socialize with those who claim to be brothers in Christ?

We should pray for those lost that are mixed up in all kinds of sin, and we should teach them how to be born again so that God can clean up the sinners from the inside out. But if one of these continues in that sin then they should be judged and put away from among the brethren.

1 Corinthians 5:9-13

Usually, I'm a pretty trusting guy... and it gets me in trouble because I want to believe those around me and I want to trust my fellow Christian.

But then there comes a time where I need to heed scripture... and I recall reading that there will be blemishes among us, those who seek to corrupt us through lies and deceit. If this is Soma, then my heart goes out to you that you will get right with God and stop this deceitfull foolishness.

You see, Saul was God's annointed and thus, David respected God enough not to cause harm, for he knew Saul would bring destruction upon himself.., and Saul sought the power of the Lord, and through that seeking, he turned and got lost in what the purpose of God's commandments were for... And he became foolish and didn't wait for Samual to come and present the offering...

Soma, narrow is the gate that leads to life, but wide is the gate of destruction. Take care of your walk with the Lord and the Lord will take care of your needs. Wander from the instructions of the Lord, and you heap destruction upon yourself. Do not be as the tax collector and if you are, do not be suprised on how you are treated...

Hi, John here: Salvation is personal between Christ & oneself. It is not what you think of others, or what others do or think of you. These things are all the devils side issues to get us away from the Truth! Both class can read this Truth & talk or post it. The persons can be evil even, but that does nothing to the truth, it is still truth.

And sin??? 1 John 3:4 tell's the universe what sin is! See it in the King James!! That is the Godheads WORD. The ETERNAL COVENANT

And about making Judgements? We hear of wheat & Tares growing together. Folks say that 'you' (me, us) are judging me!! :
Now please pay attention, ok? What we are to do, is to hate sin! Never the sinner. Can that be done? Surely! But only by a person who is recreated or Born Again. John 3:3.

And we are talking about a persons [post]. We know nothing about what is inside of the heart of any poster. This is what the Wheat & Tares growing together means.

Now about OPEN SEEN DOCUMENTED SIN! As defined in the 1 John 3:4. Ones heart (mind) is seen only by God. OPEN sin is not that case! All and any OPEN SIN can be detected by the Eternal Hebrews 13:20 Covenant of God as being broken, if it is being done OPENLY & CONTINUALLY or has been done as such. Got that?? See James 2:8-12

OK: all are sinners. Fact!! It is not the one time sin that is the sin against the Holy Ghost, it is the End or Maturity that finishes the sin. James 1:15 1 John 5:16-17. God put the tree in the Garden to test Their Perfect creation. They were perfect, yet, They created Adam & Eve (mankind) with freedom of choice. They were not created perfect in MATURITY. This they had to develope! Now as we too are clearly seen again in Romans 8:1 as perfect, [/u](NO CONDEMNATION) we too are to mature!! All of the provisions are there from 'eternity' (do you understand what Born Again means? As Adam was before sin!) for this purpose! See Philippians 4:13 & 2 Corinthians 12:9.

What God REQUIRES(see Nahum 1:9) is that we grow & Mature in all Truth as we are 'LED' as in Romans 8:14. We will either Mature one way or the other as James 1:15 tells us. We will finish the process in our lifetime & it will be finished one way or the other.

God wants & requires us to Obey Him. Acts 5:32. And this is a growing & Maturing process! And what about the most who profess to be Christians???
Christ tells us who they are that are in the Broad way path, those who do not care enough. See Matthew 4:4 & Revelation 17:1-5.
Yet, we cannot or do not want to try to judge ones 'motives'! But, if one openly is going against the 10 Commandment Covenant of God, that is a different kind of judgement that we are required to make! See 1 Corinthians 5:3-5 & 1 Corinthians 6:1-3, or Matthew 18:11-18.

Good post. Right now, I'm having a hard time believing that he has a girlfriend in the hospital. What if that's a lie too? Everytime he gets caught lying or just being plain ignorant, he goes into pity party and saying he's sorry, but his girlfriend is sick....blah, blah, blah.

I'm done with him. I think the best thing we could all do it put him on ignore.

Am I reading the above post correctly? Are we told we are to judge with righteous judgement? That's what John 7:24 appears to be saying. 8-)
