What's your favorite Praise and worship song?

The Heart of Worship
Matt Redman
When the music fades,
All is stripped away, and I simply come
Longing just to bring
Something that's of worth
That will bless your heart

I'll bring you more than a song
For a song in itself is not what you have required.
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear;
You're looking into my heart.

I'm coming back to the heart of worship
And it's all about you
All about you Jesus.
I'm sorry Lord for the thing I've made it
When it's all about you,
All about you Jesus.

King of endless worth
No one could express
How much you deserve.
Though I'm weak and poor
All I have is yours, every single breath.

I'll bring you more than a song
For a song in itself is not what you have required.
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear;
You're looking into my heart.

I'm coming back to the heart of worship
And it's all about you
All about you Jesus.
I'm sorry Lord for the thing I've made it
When it's all about you,
All about you Jesus.

This song is the 2nd song on my minidisc player, after "I could Sing of your Love forever." I love it too It just fills me up with love and makes me so happy for the rest of the day.

Brutus, the song you picked, "How Great is Our God," written by Chris Tomlin is absolutely great. That's the CD I play over and over. The song he does with Steven Curtis Chapman called, "Unfailing Love" is awesome, but so is the first song on that CD, "Indescribable." I just got through reading his book called, "The Way I Was Made." It has truly made me think about what worship is.

artist : paramaecium
album : echoes from the ground
song: night fears morning

take it all away i have walked alone
and wept ion silent thought upon the cobblestone
they ridicule my faith the learned of tis rich establishment
i fear they hold the truth that my beliefs are just imaginings
night fears morning

my god, take it all away all i have to say
thoughts inside of me want to cease to be
this time they've gone to far, they've taken all my solemn dignity
this time they've gone too far they tore the veil the pain goes on
night fears morning

i must make my way to the holy lands
aboard a merchant ship to search with my own hands
the soil will hold the keys to unlock all the bindings of my heart
my dreams will be assured veracity will have it's daylight
life fears mourning

The song I love the most is God of wonders. I have it is several different versions and each one of them is special to me

Lord of Heaven and Earth
(Lord of all creation)
Lord of Heaven and Earth

Lord of all creation
Of the water, earth and sky
The Heavens are your Tabernacle
Glory To the Lord on high

God of wonders
Beyond our galaxy
You are holy, holy
The universe
Declares your majesty
You are holy, holy

Early in the morning
I will celebrate the light
And when I stumble into darkness
I will call your name by night

God of wonders
Beyond our galaxy
You are holy, holy
The universe
Declares your majesty
You are holy, holy

Hallelujah (to the lord of heaven and earth)
Hallelujah (to the lord of heaven and earth)
Hallelujah (to the lord of heaven and earth)

Holy, holy
Holy, holy

God of wonders
Beyond our galaxy
You are holy, holy

Precious Lord,
Reveal your heart to me
Father hold me, hold me

The Universe
Declares your majesty
You are Holy, Holy
Holy, Holy

Hallelujah (to the lord of heaven and earth)
Hallelujah (to the lord of heaven and earth)
Hallelujah (to the lord of heaven and earth)
Hallelujah (to the lord of heaven and earth)
Hallelujah (to the lord of heaven and earth)
Hallelujah (to the lord of heaven and earth)

Can I have a runner up? Wonderful Maker by Jeremy Camp also gets me wanting to fall on my face in worship...

You spread out the skies over empty space
Said, let there be light
To a dark and formless world
Your light was born
You spread out your arms over empty hearts
Said, let there be light
To a dark and hopeless world
Your son was born

You made the world and saw that it was good
You sent your only son, for you are good

CHORUS
What a wonderful maker
What a wonderful savior
How majestic your whispers
And how humble your love
With a strength like no other
And the heart of a father
How majestic your whispers
What a wonderful God

No eye has fully seen how beautiful the cross
And we have only heard the faintest whispers
Of how great you are

You made the world and saw that it was good
You sent your only son, for you are good

What a wonderful maker
What a wonderful savior
How majestic your whispers
And how humble your love
With a strength like no other
And the heart of a father
How majestic your whispers
What a wonderful God

You made the world and saw that it was good
You sent your only son, for you are good

What a wonderful maker
What a wonderful savior
How majestic your whispers
And how humble your love
With a strength like no other
And the heart of a father
How majestic your whispers
What a wonderful God

How majestic your whispers
what a wonderful God

Revival in Belfast II CD (Celtic music is beautiful!!)

The Wonder Of Your Cross

The wonder of your cross shall be our meditation
To gather in that shadow when the sun went down
To weep with those who thought that you were leaving,
You were leaving, Jesus
The humble King who never wore an earthly crown.

To steal away at night when they took down your body.
With love and tears to leave You in a borrowed grave
To go with Mary to the place they laid You,
Where they laid You, Jesus
And in the morning find the stone was rolled away

The cross, O the wonderful cross
What Glory, what victory, I've found
I'll come to the wonderful cross
And my whole life I lay down

Were heaven's praises silent in those hours of darkness?
Your Holy Spirit brooding round that empty throne?
Until the declaration "He is Risen", You are risen, Jesus,
"He is not dead, behold He lives for evermore".....

The cross, O the wonderful cross
What Glory, what victory, I've found
I'll come to the wonderful cross
And my whole life I lay down

I'm more of a hymn guy, but of the more contemporary worship music I'd say Heart of Worship and Shout to the Lord.

Shine Jesus Shine by Graham Kendrick

I particularly like verse 3

As we gaze on Your kingly brightness
may our faces display your likeness
Ever changing from glory to glory
mirror'd here may our lives tell your story
Shine on me, Shine on me

In Christ Alone

In Christ Alone,
My Hope Is Found
He Is My Light,
My Strength, My Song
This Cornerstone, This Solid Ground
Firm Through the Fiercest Drought And Storm
What Heights Of Love! What Depths Of Peace!
When Fears Are Stilled, When Strifings Cease
My Comforter, My All In All
Here In The Love Of Christ I’ll Stand

In Christ Alone, Who Took On Flesh
Fullness Of God In Helpless Babe
This Gift Of Love And Righteousness
Scorned By The Ones He Came To Save
‘Til On The Cross As Jesus Died
The Wrath Of God Was Satisfied
For Every Sin On Him Was Laid
Here In The Death Of Christ I Live

There In The Ground His Body Lay
Light Of The World By Darkness Slain
Then Bursting Forth In Glorious Day
Up From The Grave He Rose Again
And As He Stands In Victory
Sin’s Curse Has Lost Its Grip On Me
For I Am His, And He Is Mine
Bought With The Precious Blood Of Christ

No Guilt In Life, No Fear In Death
This Is The Power Of Christ In Me
From Life’s First Cry To Final Breath
Jesus Commands My Destiny
No Power of Hell, No Scheme Of Man
Can Ever Pluck Me From His Hand
‘Til He Returns Or Calls Me Home
Here In The Power Of Christ I’ll Stand

Either "Flood" or "Sinking" by Jars of Clay.

"Flood"
Rain, rain on my face
It hasn't stopped raining for days
My world is a flood
Slowly I become one with the mud
But if I can't swim after forty days
And my mind is crushed by the crashing waves
Lift me up so high that I cannot fall
Lift me up

Lift me up, when I'm falling
Lift me up, I'm weak and I'm dying
Lift me up, I need you to hold me
Lift me up, and keep me from drowning again

Downpour on my soul
Splashing in the ocean, I'm losing control
Dark sky all around
Can't feel my feet touching the ground
But if I can't swim after forty days
And my mind is crushed by a thrashing wave
Lift me up so high that I cannot fall
Lift me up

Lift me up, when I'm falling
Lift me up, I'm weak and I'm dying
Lift me up, I need you to hold me
Lift me up, and keep me from drowning again

Calm the storms that drench my eyes
And dry the streams still falling
Casting down all waves of sin
And guilt that overthrow me
But if I can't swim after forty days
And my mind is crushed by a crashing wave
Lift me up so high that I cannot fall
Lift me up

"Sinking"
It's not my problem anymore
See, it never really was
So you can stop "caring" as you call it
And I'll be fine right here
You see that I can play a pretty convincing role
So I don't need you, I don't think I need you

But you see through my forever lies
And you are not believing
And I see in your forever eyes
And you are forever healing

You can't hear what I'm not saying
And I can hold out long enough
Treading water, I keep from sinking
And I'm not one for reaching
You see that I can play a pretty convincing role
So I don't need you, I don't think I need you
You see through my forever lies
And you are not believing
And I see in your forever eyes
That you are forever healing

Deny myself, deny my heart
Deny your Hand, deny your Will
Well, you offer me Eternity
But why should I buy that?

You see that I can play a pretty convincing role
So I don't need you, I don't think I need you
And you see through my forever lies, and you are not believing
And I see in your forever eyes that you are forever healing

right now my fav is "Look To You" by United....but I'm surew will change soon.

At any time, when "I Can Hear Your Voice" is played I am instantly drawn to another place inside myself. The choir, the words and the music all cause me to become so contemplative about recent troubling issues, all brought into the forefront unbidden - yet they are free of the usual worry. I feel the most honest with myself, unfettered by denials/biases. and totally unafraid of what realizations I might come to, never doubting if I'll have the strength or lack the confidence to deal with them. My own breathing lightens me, and I feel this readiness to move through my life with joy and confidence. It's inspiring, and I want to be in that place often. I don't know why it happens or where this energy is picked up from as it's just a song playing out of my speakers but it changes me the very moment it sounds out.

I Can Hear Your Voice

Michael W. Smith
Worship Again

I'm in the river that flows from your throne
Water of Life
Water of Life
It Covers me and I breath again
Your love is breath to my soul

I can hear Your voice as You sing over me
It's Your song of Hope breathing life into me
I can feel Your touch as I come close to You
And it heals my heart
You restore and renew

Much of this Praise & Worship CD has a similar effect, but this one song in particular, though short and even simple, is beautiful.

And that's MY favorite Praise/Worship song right now :)

Bee
:)colros:

Deeper - Hillsongs

Also Tim Hughes stuff, 'Giver of life' and 'Consuming Fire'

I have so many favorites and love a wide variety of music that I'd be hard pressed to single out one. There is one, however, that I absolutely loved when I first became a Christian in 1988.

UNTIL THEN

My heart can sing when I pause to remember
A heartache here is but a stepping stone
Along a trail that's winding always upward
This troubled world is not my final home

But until then my heart will go on singing
Until then with joy I'll carry on
Until the day my eyes behold the city
Until the day God calls me home

The things of earth will dim and lose their value
If we recall they're borrowed for awhile
And things of earth that cause the heart to tremble
Remembered there will only bring a smile

But until then my heart will go on singing
Until then with joy I'll carry on
Until the day my eyes behold the city
Until the day God calls me home
