Has anyone seen "Bruce Almighty"? Good movie! I believe Bruce answered 'yes' to all the prayer requests which ended up with a heap of people winning the lottery all at once and only winning 17c Funny as! Stands to reason why the answer may just be 'no' or 'not right now' or ' that's not what you really need you need this..." or whatever.

but those people were not "true believers"

Right BB and gary?

Why would god say "hey, wish like this, and you will receive"

and then he doesnt pay off.

Matt.21.21 And Jesus answered them, "Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and never doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, `Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it will be done.

Please tell me where that says that your prayers and requests, of true believers, wont happen?

Before anyone answers that, I want peace4all to explain to us what Jesus was trying to teach His Apostles in that passage. Not just the verse, but the whole passage. That would be Matthew 21:18-22.

as soon as we're born we're sinners so I'd say until we die we will never be without sin

alright, lets clarify something.

When is a human, with-out sin.

when is BB, or myself, with out sin?

I think you are without sin when you are not sinning! :P

Nah, cause as soon as I was without sin I would be prideful about it.

It is true we are born into sin ,
But the LORD gave HIS blood ,that we could be free of sin ,and be in a personal relationship as in the garden ,before man kind sinned .
That is why we MUST be born again .A new birth .
This birth is spiritual .You see?we are spirit as GOD is ,then soul and body .The LORD died that our spirit could be sin less .

This is how we are once we are born of GOD ?2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
1Jo 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
BIG STATEMENT ?AS HE IS IN HEAVEN ?WE ARE HERE ON EARTH !

THIS IS THAT NEW BIRTH !
Joh 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

THIS TELLS OF IT IN THE OLD TESTAMENT !
Eze 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

This is who our new inner man ,is copied from .
1Co 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
The 2nd adam is our LORD JESUS CHRIST

This is our new nature!
2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

The problem is not understanding we are 3 parts ,spirit ,soul and flesh

GOD is a spirit ,
They that come to HIM ,must come in spirit ,and truth
When we read the bible ?We must think which is that talking about?my spirit my soul or my flesh ?

satan does not want us to know we are sin less,he wants you bound and beaten ,our LORD wants us to know?HE has taken all sin from us ,and we are now one with HIm .We are forgiven and can conquer anything.
We are as our LORd ,if we have accepted HIM as LORd .
We are not even of this world any more .But of a city build just for us .NEW JERUSALEM .
NEW JERUSALEM is the mother of us all .We are more than conquers ,we are over comers .
We are heirs
We are HIS VERY KIDS .
We have power
But you see?If we reject HIS WORD ,And fall back into thinking we are nothing ,then we fail HIm, .And take from HIm ,HIS GLORY AND HONOR for the work HE did for us .
The world would have us live in bondage forever .they want us just like them ?
We are not .
We are more .
Because HE has accepted us as HIS CHILDERN .
But HE wants us to think like HIm .
This thinking starts with LOVE .
Never looking down on others,But always looking to help and be kind to others .We must be a humble people .
We can see ?What happen to paul ,because he got a little high minded.
The trouble is in our thinking.our minds MUST be renewed .
We must take on HIS THOUGHTS .But accept the TRUTH .
now to keep sinning is not HIS will .HIS will is ,we never sin again .

1Jo 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
THIS SCRIPTURE should be studied very close.
1Jo 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Itv amazes me ?That these are rejected .They are plain as day .yet people do not see them ?
ALL scripture is true! But our understanding is flawed .We can not reject one for another !Because all is true !
We are just not seeing the full picture, just seeing the parts that fit with what others have taught us .

What does this say was made PERFECT?
Heb 12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Joh 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Now we can go no farther than our teacher,So I think if your wise? You will make the HOLY SPIRIT your teacher .HE waits to teach you everything ,on earth or in heaven .HE knows everything and wants you too know EVERYTHING.

that is jesus teaching the apostles, that daddy (god) gave him teh power to push around anything that didnt do what he wants.

It was awfully selfish of jesus to do that.

What he taught his apostles, is that, if they truly believe, they can achieve whatever they want.

Speaking of that. The apostles, those that would arguably be closest to god, Seemed to have flunked the tests of god, because they never had faith in him.

How do you know that some were believers and some weren't?

Because if jsut 1 believed truly, then terri would have been saved.
Millions of christians arent true believers.

btw, i was always told that christians are born with sin, and have it until their rebirth in heaven.

Ok, we could do without the melodrama. Show some respect while you're here please. It's God, not god. Thank you very much.

What he taught his apostles, is that, if they truly believe, they can achieve whatever they want.
Well, Jesus did seize the moment and did touch on Faithful prayer, but that wasn't the lesson of the Fig Tree. Also, prayer is an act of faith, discipline and obedience. It's not a means in which we beg for God to grant our every wish and whim. He is not a puppet. It is truly sad that many nonbelievers and believers alike see prayer in that light.

Speaking of that. The apostles, those that would arguably be closest to god, Seemed to have flunked the tests of god, because they never had faith in him.
You are close. This wasn't actually a test, but a warning and lesson on Faith, obedience and bearing fruit.. Also, it wasn't necessarily directed at the Apostles, but rather at the Jews and the Nation of Israel as a whole. They had religion, but little faith. They would become like the Fig Tree if they continued this way. Jesus is telling them Israel would wither away to it's very roots if they didn't have faith. We can see that in Mark's telling of the same event...

"Mark 11:20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots."

Jesus also spoke about moving or 'removing' mountains. He wasn't referring to real mountains. A mountain to a Jew back then, was an obstacle or a difficulty. With the right faith (believing) God will help them overcome any difficulties. The same applies to we Christians. If we go to the Lord with the right attitude (heart) and the right faith (believing), we too will be be granted the same. It isn't always the asking for material things... it is in most cases the opposite. It's no wonder many people feel their prayers go unanswered; maybe they are asking for the wrong things and with the wrong attitude.

I won't even touch the Terri comment. For me, it's not the fact she died, it's all the circumstances that led to her death and actually, the way she was left to die. Sad, very sad.

btw, i was always told that christians are born with sin, and have it until their rebirth in heaven.
Heh? Where did you get this???

Our power is far beyond our understanding ,GOD will not reveal it all too us ,until we think like our LORD .Yes we can do as OUR LORD did .calm the seas ,move the mountain .Nothing is impossiable .
1Jo 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
Either we believe it or not.Or change it to go with our thinking.
greater works will these do ?
sounds powerful to me!
mocking the LORd ,will only get you in serious trouble .

I got the sin rebirth thing, from a co-worker. She does a bible club at the nursing home i work at.

Every christian is diffrent, and that is her take on it. ALso, she does not see mountain as a metaphor, but as a true mountain.

I do not think "God" would be a puppet to people. Because if people truly believed in "God" enough to have their prayers answered, their prayers would not be selfish or anything of that nature.

Joh 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
I asked for my wife,She did not like me

I asked for my home.I have no payments ,He gave it too me
I asked for my last son ,My wife could not have kids
I ask all the time and most always recieve what I ask for .I expect too recieve.
I been healed many times .
FAITH and belonging to HIM .
The new birth .

Not to go off topic, but what is going on with your formatting spirit1st?
Its really annoying and hard to read.

As always you discredit God based on what some people do. That is sure evidence of ignorance of what the bible teaches. If you had any understanding of it, you would realize that it shows us how man may fail, but God is faithful.

(Rom 3:03) "Does their faithlessness nullify faithfulness of God? By no means! Let God be true though every man be false, as it is written,
'That thou mayest be justified in thy words, and prevail when thou art judged.'"

When is a human, with-out sin.

when is BB, or myself, with out sin?

Humans are born of sin I believe...not a day goes by that we do not inhabit sin because our flesh is sin.

I am a sinner and will always be a sinner; even as much as I try to obey the Lord.

The death sentence is not sin however; but the bondage to believe that is all we will be. Though my flesh knows I am dead; my spirt lives on in Christ.

I do not know your heart peace4all; so I cannot say that you are with or without sin that denies spiritual freedom. That is for you to discover when you are ready. However, instead of accepting Christ through others or the religious measuring stick...maybe you would feel more comfortable accepting Christ in the ways you are capable first.

I started by accepting Christ in naivity; denying Christ in anger when I couldn't stand up to the meassuring stick; and then accepted Christ again when I realised I had no-one to fight but Him...and I didn't really want to fight with Him; just the unfairness of my life sometimes.

I think under everything life has put onto you, you have a good heart peace4all; and that is why you are here.
