When did the “end times” or “last days” begin?

Thanks

When the Messiah appeared until judgement day.

in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh...Joe.2:28, Act.2:17

But it's also how Christ affects the outlook of believers,

all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 1Cor.10:11

The "ensamples" were the end times for those experiencing it.

miamited,
I'm convinved the question isn't, "When are the end times?"
I believe what we should be asking is, "How are the end times?"
Look at the descriptions and we can see throughout history, nothing has really changed.

as ye see the day approaching. Heb.10:25

Well, I'm not sure how you see that 'nothing has really changed', but I see a lot of change. Morally, especially here in the U.S. We've become angrier, meaner, less charitable, as people. Looking over the 330 million of us, there are greater issues with sexual identity and relationships that were pretty much kept under wraps in past days. That's been a big change. I'm sorry that you missed it all. It was pretty raucous.

We are a much more entitled thinking group today than I believe we were 200 years ago. Everyone is screaming that their 'rights' are constantly being violated. Certainly, technological advances and scientific and medical advances have jumped exponentially. Daniel tells us that in the end times knowledge will increase. Not wisdom...knowledge.

So I see quite a lot of change. Just read through the list of sinful gains that Paul writes to the Romans in chapter 1 and I think that for each one of them, one could easily say that all of those sins and their practices and the approval thereof, are quickly coming to the fore.

God bless

I haven't missed it, because I was part of it, to one degree or another.

200 years ago they screamed so loud it started a war. There have always been wars and they all without exception begin because somebody is mistreating "us" (me) in someway,

Although there is advancement in inventions, mankind is no smarter than when God first created him,

Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us. Ecc.1:10
Daniel tells us that in the end times knowledge will increase. Not wisdom...knowledge.
Daniel may be referring to technology, but it's also true that people can have knowledge of God from scripture, but never use that knowledge.
One sign that the end times have come is that the knowledge of God would spread to the gentiles and did. Just not how Judaism thought it would.
So I see quite a lot of change. Just read through the list of sinful gains that Paul writes to the Romans in chapter 1 and I think that for each one of them, one could easily say that all of those sins and their practices and the approval thereof, are quickly coming to the fore.

God bless you also. God flooded this earth once because only evil imaginations were left. Nothing has changed in that way. We're still going to war against that.

Hi journeyman

I'm thinking there would be a massive difference in knowledge (the knowing about a subject) between today's man, and say someone in the 5th century. And don't even consider going back as far as Abraham.

I'm not sure you appreciate that knowledge has nothing to do with how smart a person is. You can be the smartest person in the world and win chess championships up the ying yang, but you likely couldn't even hold a trowel and put on a scratch coat for laying brick and masonry block. You see, knowledge is the knowing about particular things or subjects or trades, if you will. All of those people are likely reasonably smart people, but they each possess different knowledge.

I believe it was translated correctly: knowledge will increase. Just consider, that today, with the internet and youtube, a person can just about gain the knowledge to build a skyscraper that's never bought a load of concrete. (a bit of hyperbole, of course) But God's word is always true and we are moving into the end of the last days. There are still a few prophetic signs that I haven't seen yet, which would announce them being right at the door, but I'm confident that they are within the next 100-200 years. And they could be within the next 20. It depends on how fast God desires to move to the day that He's going to send His Son back to gather us.

God bless,
Ted

I was referring to mankinds inherent knowledge, his ability to think, speak, act, etc. That has never changed.

And since we've been forgiven, God doesn't want us to forget we were part of this worlds' ways. Start thinking, "Those people are way more evil than I ever was."

They're evil alright, but so are we. I think you know Gods' grace toward us all because the need for him has never changed.

God said He would pour out His Spirit in the last days.
Pentecost is shown as a fulfillment of that prophecy as noted in Acts 2.

In regard to signs given of the Lords coming again I would state Rev 11 is a sign that can't be mistaken. The beast that overpowers and kills God's two witnesses has been given a reign of 42 months. The bowl judgments are the judgments that plunge the beast's kingdom into darkness.

The Lord comes. Rev 16:15

When I first became a Christian, I was praying in a group, and tongues of fire touched all of us. No one had mentioned it before or during the prayer. It was by far the strangest thing that happened to me.

Interesting. I was just sitting in front of a heater drying my hair (while reading I Corinthians 12 ) (I think). I had a paternal Grandmother try and start a conversation but my dad stopped the conversation with:
( you know I don’t believe that). I did not know what the that was at the time.

In my redneck mind that is when the New Jerusalem becomes revealed inside us.

Human body symbolism shows the hidden man of the heart and hthe New Jerusalem descend into our cerebellum thought process. The law in Kurt and mind.

The last days started in gospel times. John said

1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

Yes
Acts 2 Pentecost

“‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,

Jesus life, death and resurrection gave us newness of life so IMO last days started from the time we were Spiritually born again and indwelled with the Holy Spirit anticipating His return on the last day. John 3:5-7; Rev 19.

Without defining which last days it sure gets broad.

If you know this particular forum you should find out what End Times means.

Metabolic functions in the human body can vary. The Brain does some unique things other organs do not exactly do. Kidneys are not exactly like the lungs.
I am not an expert on metabolic function.

What good is a Baptist? Old line Baptists would not let you forget Repentance. Other doctrines too.

Pentecostals will not let you forget the Holy Spirit. Other doctrine too.

Now me? Boy I would skew us to the flood. Just 8 people survived the flood. Lots of great symbolism to compare to the End of Time. I started to hang out here to get a feel for end times folks.

Tonsils were snipped out for a period of time. Oops we might need those. Antibiotics were good till orcganisms developed resistance.

Teaching them all things. What you mean all things? Sometimes we need to get a handle on a new area.

Me I like PaRDeS, but I found out most folks see that as tonsils. So I stay closer to parables now. Four levels of oxen doctrine are too meany different beans in a vessel for some.

We need each other. A spleen and lungs do not speak the same language.

1260 days prior to the Yom Kippur in 2030 or 2031, go figure. Don't look at the Jewish calendar, it's at least 200 years off.
There is no Jewish calendar
No israel
Pentecost began the last days

  1. Joel 2:28
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shallsee visions:

I thought Pentecost was a bunch of Jews.
120 disciples and out of country Jews (and gentile converts).

I thought the gentiles entered at the gentile inclusion. Acts 10
Mainly Peter and Cornelius and God interacting, but others were involved.

The one new man is made of Jew and gentile.

By journeyman

1 Corinthians 10:9 kjv
9. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
10. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
11. Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

And Hebrews 10:25 also mentioned by journeyman.

I think we should be looking for more scriptures that have some sort of relevance.

Luke 16:16 kjv
16. The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

The Gospel went forth to the Jew and gentiles. The one new man message is to both groups united in Christ.

The story of Lazarus and the rich man ends Luke chapter 16. This story stresses the importance of Moses and the prophets. Jesus went nd preached to those in prison. Those in Abraham’s Bosom were moved into the Gospel (age?) by that preaching. IMHO
