Ramadan is more the sid el fatir. its not just a meal its a thirty day fast of no eating during the hours of light and prayer must be done during shumah weekly. if Obama was celebrating that, we should have pics of him going to a prayer service on Friday. until you produce that, im not buying it. I have been around Ramadan twice to know what they do.

And it wasn't a left wing reporter's interpretation either. It was Bush's own words. Deborah linked to an article about it on FOX, which is hardly a liberal stronghold. That article stated:

There you have it from a conservative source. If Obama says something (as I believe somebody quoted earlier) that implies that all faiths lead to the same God, then you say that proves he can't be a Christian. Shouldn't the same logic apply to Bush?

It wasn't hijacking. Hijacking a thread is when you change the subject to something irrelevant to the original topic. What I said about G.W. Bush was very relevant to the topic being discussed. You and others here have spoken of dishonesty as if it were specific to Democrats, and especially to Obama. I was pointing out that dishonesty is common to all politicians, whether they be Republicans or Democrats or anything else. You and others have been talking as if Republicans were beyond reproach, and I chose those examples of Bush to show that that is not the case. It was relevant to the discussion.

I really do wish people, young and old, would strive for that but my generation's mission was to see the first step of that mission completed, segregation in America. And our leaders were John Kennedy and Dr. M. King. If there were alive today they would be just as disappointed as those of us that still live are at the mess men have made of that.

My best friend that survived the war was a black man, a big black man I played the Blues with, and we never lived more that 30 miles apart but he was terrified for me to, ever, come to his house for a sip of wine, cigars and to play the Blues.
