Where do you see yourself in five years?

You’re a young person and so the answer to that question for those whose life is more than half over is different and going to be boring for you. I gather you’re in med school so most of your life is in front of you. You’d want to hear what others at that stage envision. That’s understandable.

What might be interesting for a young person is to hear that one can reach the over half way point and be deeply satisfied. The major life choices weren’t bungled. I have a great partner for me. I raised two kids with whom we have a remarkable relationship and are standing in their own, also having chosen a great partner. My professional life provided us with some wherewithal at crucial points or just enough but allowed me the time to raise my babies. Those are life affecting choices one is glad when it is behind one and it all went well.

We didn’t have “bucket lists” to experience before death which I think is so superficial it’s absurd. Instead we wanted to BECOME. And I wanted to understand. I deeply hungered to understand God and man. On both accounts a satisfying measure has been given.

So I’m very glad my life is much better than I had thought it could be. The fears of wreaking my life as, I’ve now seen many do, are gone.

So I have had and am still enjoying a deeply satisfying life. I’m not wealthy and face such a lack of funds that I’ll likely have to move to a more economical place (Switzerland is not one of those.) But I know and understand God on a level I never thought possible.

So in the next 5 years…difficult to say. That last decades have been satisfying with nothing I valued really lacking. (Might not be what others valued.)

I really don't know. I suppose if I stick with my current job, I may be able to climb the ranks. My boss has said she could see me making a career out of it.

I deleted these post as they will cause to derail the OP. Please stay on topic. Thank you.

In five years I will be 73 and hubby 61 and hopefully will see my husband and I traveling around the USA enjoying our life and continuing in spreading the Gospel message everywhere we go as we meet new people.
