Where does the comma go?

Back to the OP's post and the comma question...does Greek use commas? Is it in the Greek text?

I don't know about modern Greek, but the oldest Greek manuscripts we have don't have any punctuation marks at all. They don't even have spaces between the words. That's why there are many possible translations in many cases. Sometimes it's a question of where to put a punctuation mark, sometimes it's a question of what punctuation mark to use and sometimes it's a question of where to divide the words. In most cases it doesnt' change much, but in some cases it does.

The TOG

Well, this thread went off topic pretty fast. I claimed, and some others have agreed, that the purpose of God giving the various ministries was so that those who had those ministries could "equip the saints for works of service" and that it is then the job of every Christian to build up the body of Christ by doing those works of service. Some Bibles translate Eph. 4:12 in a way that doesn't support that interpretation. Does anyone here disagree with my interpretation on this or are we all in agreement?

The TOG

I agree with your interpretations. The saints are to be prepared to do the work of the ministry that edifies the body of Christ.

Also,
I know some really good teachers of the Word that are not preachers.
