WHICH Christianity?

experimental-robot said:
[quote="Lyric's Dad":617d2]Which islam;

the one that beats women for driving?
the one that gets pilots licenses to kill thousands?
the one that videotapes beheadings?
the one that martyrs thousands of Christians and Jews?
the one that covers up the archeological evidence surrounding the temple mount?
the one that makes their women cover all but their eyes?
the one that kills their families for not remaining a muslim?

Or is it the super fluffy version that most muslims want us to believe is truly representative of them?

.

to point out how ridiculous you post is
which christianity?
the one's who killed the cathars? burned witches and heretics? forced natives to be christian? The Crusade Christians that slaughtered hundreds of thousands of people?
the christian slave owners and slave traders?
the snake handling chrsitians?
The ones who shoot abortion doctors?

get it?
now get a grip[/quote:617d2]Don't know why I respond to the idiocy of your post but here goes. These things are not given as respones in the Bible. Jesus did not teach these things. Those people are not CHristians in truth but only name. On the other hand, islam teaches them to be terrorists. The true muslims are those who commit atrocities.

Now get a life.

so 'Christians' , what is christianity?
Not Unitarians, Mormons, or JWs, that's for sure. Those are heretical movements.

But Free, the RCC/Eastern Orthodox believe that Protestantism, in general, was a "heretical movement". And the RCC/OC each claim to be the "true church" in regards to each other. There are many Protestants who believe that practicing Catholics cannot be saved. There are many Catholics who believe that Protestants are not saved.

Even if you eliminate the smaller groups you mention, classifying them as "cults" because they are doctrinally too far "off the beaten path" of organized Christianity in general, you still have the problem of RCC vs. OC vs. Protestantism (and the many denominations within Protestantism)

I think "WHICH Christianity" is still a valid question?

WHICH christianity? protestant? catholic? mormon? jehovas witness? east orthodox?

and lets not forget the UNITARIAN christians. they believe that jesus was just a prophet.

so 'Christians' , what is christianity?

Perhaps you have to know the meaning of Christianity from Cultic Beliefs.

It really isn't a valid question. Despite the differences in Protestantism, RCC, and OC, there are still fundamental beliefs which are common to all, such as the Trinity. The OC emphasizes liturgy, the RCC the Church, and Protestants emphasize Scripture.

JWs, Mormons, Unitarians, Christian Science, and other cult groups deny many or all of the fundamental doctrines of Christianity that are common among the main three streams of orthodoxy. These fringe groups cannot, by their denial of essential Christian doctrines, lay claim to being part of Christianity.
