“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork.” (Psalm19:1) NKJ
Here are some facts about the universe. The earth is in the Milky Way, which is a large group of stars called a galaxy. The Milky Way is about 100,000 light years across. A light-year is the distance light travels in one year or about 5.88 trillion miles. A rocket traveling 25,500 miles per hour would take 26,300 years to travel a light-year.
Galaxies tend to be grouped together in clusters. The Milky Way is part of a cluster known as the Local Group, when measures about 10 million light-years in diameter. This cluster also includes 2 giant spirals and about 40 dwarf galaxies.
The Virgo Cluster is the nearest cluster of galaxies. It lies about 55 million light-years away and consists of 2,500 to 3,000 galaxies. The Local Group, Virgo Cluster, and dozens of other nearby groups measures about 200 million light-years in diameter and contains ten of thousands of galaxies.
Superclusters form part of a vast fiber like structures where galaxies are usually found. Huge voids, measuring hundreds of millions of light-years across, span the space between these fibers.
God created the entire universe. By our standards it is so vast we cannot comprehend it. Yet, we, in our myopic state believe that God can’t take care of us or He can’t bend the world at His will to accomplish His plan.
Why then, is He even mindful of us? In our fallen sinful state, sometimes I wonder. He loves us beyond all comprehension and we are made in His image. Even in are fallen and sinful state the great and wonderful God still loves us.
Since God is our creator, who are we to question His plans for us?
