reba (posting above) Awww... come on. You ain't that old, but I heard once that you were older than dirt... That's what I heard anyway. But I didn't say it. I'd be too afraid to say that.
And she's right. Being a construction worker isn't nuthing compared to what a preacher kid endures. I should know, I preach left and right, but it was my great-great grandpappy on my daddy's side that was the official preacher (other than me) in my family. And that takes us back to ye ol' covered wagon days (seriously). So sometimes what? It skips a generation? No, I didn't say that either. There are other saved in my family --but I'm only a great great grand of a preacher and I'm not a preacher's kid and I ain't no spring chickun either.
My point is that we're a rag-tag mix (So was David's Army, right?) and you might just fit in especially if you form relationships and don't mind coming to the rescue of your friends or just palling around and having fun but not coming to blows over silly stuffs (that happens almost sometimes too). And if you like to go looking for trouble (like me sometimes) then that's okay too because there are DEBATE areas for that too.
In that way? Yeah. Gruff is fine. Probably. I think maybe, that is. Believe it or not, there are others who are "gruff" and/or blunt and sometimes even quick to anger? But that's not to say that I think you are that, heck, we don't even know each other now do we?
But do go and take a look at the
Terms of Service before you join. Read 'em all. I have. More than once, I'll tell ya. You see, the ToS forms the rules we agree to in exchange for the Service(s) we all get here, like Server hosting and stuff and even the Mods serve us, believe it or not. They are 100% unpaid volunteers preferring to get rewards later in heaven, I'll bet.. but they don't earn $$ from their work here. Not one red cent
. Every single one is a sucker that way, hahaha *wink*... and none of them come from the same church group, as far as I can tell.
But just don't listen to the lady behind the curtain. She is the
Voice of the Great and Power Oz herself and boy does she have a quick-to-grab rolling pin, should she ever want to keep us in line... ya know?

be nice or else!
It's like what Adrian Warnock wrote elsewhere (on his blog) when he wrote about
'How David Transformed a Ragtag Group into a Strong Army' way over there (online on Pathos.com) and as quoted below:
Quoting Warnock for instructional purpose and under Fair Use copyright: "It is so easy for us to moan that “if only God sent better people, I could achieve so much more!” But that kind of response fails to appreciate the role of the leader, or the kind of Kingdom God is calling us to play our part in building. The leader is supposed to equip and help people, and inspire them to become better people (see for example Ephesians 4). It is this very ragtag group that David transforms into an army of strongmen. God’s kingdom doesn’t reject the weak, but welcomes them and transforms them."
