I am sure that this has been done before. I have tried to cover all of the things that describe who Jesus is. I am sure that I missed something, but I don't know what it is. If you can think of something that describes who Jesus is I will try to add it to the article.
The Bible does not really tell us all that there is to know about Jesus Christ. John said that all of the books of the world could not describe all of the things that Jesus did, John 21:25. I think that John was trying to say that Jesus was beyond human words. Paul referred to Jesus as the unspeakable gift, 2 Corinthians 9:15. Peter said, "To know him and believe in him is joy unspeakable and full of glory" 1 Peter 1:8.
John wrote, "We have heard him, we have seen him, we have touched him and bear witness that this is the eternal life which was manifested unto us" 1 John 1:1-2. Jesus said, "I have come that you might have life, and that you might have it more abundantly" John 10:10. Jesus is the abundant life. John said that Jesus is the word of God that was made flesh and dwelt among us full of grace and truth, John 1:14.
Jesus is the light of humanity. "In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And this is the condemnation that light has come into the world, but men loved darkness rather than the light, because their deeds are evil. For everyone that does evil hates the light, nor will they come to the light that their deeds may be exposed. But he that does the truth will come to the light that his deeds will be exposed and that they are wrought in God" John 3:19-21.
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He has always existed. He is the second person of the Godhead. "For by him all things were created, he is before all things and by him all things exist" Colossians 1:16-17.
Jesus Christ is the new creation, 2 Corinthians 5:17. He is also the new Adam and the new humanity. Our old Adamic humanity was put to death in him, Romans 6:6. "If any man be in Christ he is a new creation". His mission was to come into the world and clothe himself in our humanity. He is our new representative. His mission was to do for us that which we cannot do for ourselves. His acceptance into heaven is our assurance that his mission was successful, Hebrews 1:3. Jesus is the savior of the whole world. We are accepted only in him, he is God's great free gift for all of humanity, Romans 5:17.
Jesus said, "I am the Alpha and the Omega the beginning and the ending" He is the full and eternal revelation of God. All that we will ever know about God has been revealed to us in Jesus Christ. In him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead, Colossians 2:9.
Jesus is the final authority. "I am he that was dead; and behold I am alive forever, Amen, and have the keys of hell and death" Revelation 1:8. Jesus said, "All power is given unto me in heaven and on the earth" Matthew 28:18. Satan has been defeated.
Jesus is the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings, Revelation 19:16. Man is the crown of God's creation. The love that Christ has for fallen man is beyond human comprehension. Paul said, "What shall separate us from the love of God that is in Jesus Christ?" The answer is nothing.
Jesus is the bread of life. Jesus said, "I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world" John 6:51.
Jesus is the Good Shepherd. Jesus said, "I am the good Shepherd: the good Shepherd gives his life for the sheep" John 10:11. "And a stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him; for they know not the voice of strangers".
Jesus is the door to the sheepfold. "Verily, Verily, I say unto you, he that does not enter into the door of the sheepfold but climbs in some other way the same is a thief and a robber' John 10:1.
Jesus is the pearl of great price. Jesus said, "Again the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant, seeking goodly pearls: Who when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it" John 13:45
Jesus is The Wonderful Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace and the government shall be upon his shoulders, Isaiah 9:6.
Jesus is The Bright and Morning Star. "I have sent my angel to testify unto you these things in the churches, I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star" Revelation 22:16.
Jesus is, The Lamb of God. "The next day John saw Jesus coming to him and said, behold The Lamb of God which takes away the sins of the world" John 1:29.
Jesus is, The Way, The Truth and the Life: no man can come to the Father, but by him" John 14:6.
Jesus is, God's great free gift to humanity. "Even so by the righteousness of one (Christ) the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life" Romans 5:18.
Jesus is, "The resurrection and the life, he that believes in him, though he were dead, yet shall he live" John 11:25.
Jesus is, "The true vine. Jesus said, "I am the true vine you are the branches: he that abides in me, and I in him, the same will bring forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing, John 15:5.
Jesus is our righteousness. "To declare I say at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believes in Jesus" Romans 3:26.
Jesus is our mediator. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ" 1 Timothy 2:5.
Jesus is our high priest. "Seeing that we have a high priest, that is passed into heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession" Hebrews 4:14.
Jesus is our solid rock. "'For upon this rock" (Christ) I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it" Matthew 16:18.
Christ is our life. "When Christ who is our life, shall appear, then shall you also appear with him in glory" Colossians 3:4.
