Alright, so originally this topic was going to be scheduled for this weekend after I got back from my beach trip,.. however,.. I just had a surprise beach trip today so my official end of summer prep for Halloween is finally here! I like scary movies because of the fact that I love being scared. My favorite ones are Child's Play and Pet Sematary since they're the ones that scare me the most. :shock I've always had a fear of dolls (it's right up there with clowns :clown) and once I die and get to Heaven I wouldn't want to come back. Especially not as somebody or something that was possessed. Although, Carrie is right up there too since I admit, although it's not very Christian like of me, I have always wanted revenge on the people who have bullied me. (I like both versions of Carrie for the record)

Eh, I personally was never a huge fan of Halloween. Here's a hilarious (but yet scary) scene from another movie that totally terrifies me but I still watch it anyways probably for that very reason. :shock I can't stand clowns by the way. :clown




 
Im not a fan of horror movies, the reason is why would I purpously want to scare myself. Its not a nice feeling. I do not like things randomly jumping out at me like in horror movies. And I will just get paranoid and have to sleep with the light on.
 
Why is it scary when your by your self but if there is more people its not as scary. Is it because there is a better chance the ghost might get them first. If I went Ghost hunting im standing in the middle. No way am i at the front or the back. Definitely not at the back.

I don't know why I like scaring myself, I just do lol! :lol I find it fun. :) Obviously since I am currently roleplaying as Chucky, I also love to scare other people, even though he is a lot more laid back. ;)
 
I used to watch some creepier things, but now I can't stand them and feel fairly repulsed by them. I used to love The Ring, but I honestly can't stand it these days. I cut the dvd up and threw it away after a point. I know that Pennywise and Chucky are too scary for me, though.

There's a dark side only a vet knows he has.some vets can watch gore and not be phased by it ,others such as me cant.

I will quote Patrick, as I know him to be a great guy, lost none the less.

I had no problems shooting humans as these were horrible people,but deer I would hesitate as they are majestic,but I still shot them


That tells you something about how mivies,media influences us.he isn't a social path as I can vouch.he waa honest but still we value deer over men?
 
I once liked horror movies...not so much now. there is one, though, that I'd like to see again...I don't think I really -got it- when I watched it before. the original Suspiria...haven't bothered with the remake (Not trying to sound snotty...I just outgrew horror movies...).

kinda like..its easy to get people to adopt a puppy, but kids languish in foster care?
 
i read something about it...something about how cultural factors and economic factors have made animals more appealing companions than other human beings, basically because of what they termed "narcissism," which...I dunno...I'm not big on using psych speak on stuff when I can avoid it. it is...kinda scary, actually. :-(

The nephesh animals in Eden were created as companions to man.

I don't go in for slasher type movies.
But I liked "The Village" because of the suspense and some deeper meanings it was trying to bring up.
Old Hitchcock movies like "Rear Window" and others are suspenseful and scary without the need for heavy makeup on some supernatural villain.
 
Guerrilla wars are like that. Enemy soldiers know they have no chance in a uniformed fight, so they hide among civilians. The allies used guerilla warfare extensively during WWII. Partisans attacked infrastructure in Europe to keep war material from the front, and tie down uniformed troops on garrison duty.

American air superiority in the Middle East made enemy uniformed fighting ineffective. Their uniformed armies were quickly defeated, so they switched to guerrilla warfare. Making extensive use of IEDs. Striking from the shadows.
