Growth Who Molds you?

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God." Romans 12:2

I have grown children but as a parent I did not understand how much influence I had on them when they were growing up. In many ways they do the same things that I do now that they are grown. I was always a hard worker. They are also hard workers. I loved to hike and swim. They love to hike and swim. I am a thrill seeker. Now so are they. I love to watch sports, now they love to watch sports. I love the Lord. Now one of them loves the Lord and the other struggles with that. There are many things they do that I don't do, but they have patterned their lives after mine in many ways.

As a Christian, who molds you? Are you conformed to this world? Do you allow the world to tell you who you are? In many ways the world will be cruel to you and tell you how horrible you are, put you down, and try to destroy you.

Are you listening to who the Lord says you are? In His eyes you reflect Him. You are made in the glorious image of a loving, perfect God that sent His son to die for your sins? You have a great abundant life that He has planned for you.

So who molds you; the world or the Lord? Only if you are molded by the Lord will you "prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

I love your heart, but know that this world is in the grip of deep sadness. Theres nothing we can do but hope in our I am. What molds me? I don't know, maybe what molds me is having hope in him and nothing more.

Yes, we do live in a sad world right now, but our hope should not be in the world, but in the Lord. He never disappoints.

It's only by that of the Holy Spirit that teaches me and molds me and makes me who I need to be as a vessel of honor to the Lord. Do I miss the mark at times, yes, but still being molded as my perfection is in Christ and not of this world as long as I keep my focus on Him, but yet lose focus once in a while, but not for long.
