the husband earn £300,000 monthly, and the management say:

One of you must resign. Who do you think should resign?

I don't have a problem with the idea of one's wife earning more than oneself.

No: Not mine. I read that on a page. So who should resign?

It is a rather pointless question. If someone is doing a job that is worth $500k-800k a month, neither one should have any issue finding a new job at the same rate or better. It is actually much easier to find a $6,000,000 a year job than a $45,000 a year job, assuming you are already at that level.
