Origen, according to Eusebius, said, "But as to who wrote the epistle, only God knows the truth."

Wow. There has been an entire history of textual criticism that has only recently become available to most laypeople through the internet.

I love the internet! There is so much to learn!

The letter has a Pauline feel about it, but not Paul's style. My vote is someone who traveled with Paul wrote it, perhaps Barnabas.

I'm thinking Barnabas too. Hebrews doesn't have Paul's typical introduction, which is the dealbreaker to me.

Paul's typical beginning and ending are missing.
Could it have been lost or omitted when copying?
Probably not.
Must be someone else.

He must of been a plaglarizeing one, huh? (spelling?)

Any way we look at it is still the Word of God.

Paul authored the following fourteen books of the New Testament which are considered "His gospel," though he didn't personally write all of them. Many don't attribute the "Epistle of Hebrews" to the Apostle Paul, but 2 Thessalonians 3:17-18 says, "The salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write. (18) The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen." This is the way Paul signed off in his letters to these different churches, and Hebrews 13:25 closes with "Grace be with you all. Amen." To me and others, this indicates Paul authored Hebrews.

Hebrews 10:34 says "For ye had compassion of me in my bonds." To me and others, this indicates Paul authored Hebrews.

Origen, according to Eusebius, said...

Isn't Origen also the one who believed in universal salvation of all creatures, including Satan? I don't know how to consider him a reliable source but more to the point I agree with reba - the book of Hebrews is the Word of God, authored by the Holy Spirit.

Amen to that! But just think of [ALL] of the prophets being subject [to the prophets.] 1 Cor. 14:32
