Sites come and go. I started posting at various christian forums when they first came online. They were invaluable to me, the exposure to so many believers. It really "sped up" my bible studies, all the online information and exchange of data. Kind of like when computers came to business. The "efficiencies" of information is very valuable, particularly in this category. Let's you sort through the nonsense faster, without having to sit in a pew for decades waiting to figure out what they are really up to. Now we have instant transparency that was once "ruled" by various theological schools of higher learning indoctrination, largely used to promote sectarianism in the churches. Pawning and dividing the masses into personal/group sects. yuck.
Harsh personal critique of my own sights has always played the largest role in my believing life. I have never cared much for lies, obfuscations, false doctrines, separations in the churches etc. And there are plenty of them to be had. I've appreciated the structure here to some extents, staying within a very solid SoF. A lot of sites are soooo slanted to the particular postures of the owners or they get over run by some particular sect or personality and they just shout or ban everyone else out the door. A lot of deceptions still being played out.
The online world has changed things, to the better in most cases. Still a long road ahead.
