Why all the closed threads?

For example a chap said in the 'A God in my head' thread-
"it's even more scary to think that in heaven you will live with this God in your head for all eternity."
and I was going to reply with something like- "it'd be a lot more scary NOT to have God in your head for all eternity"
but then I noticed the thread had been locked, so my gem of wisdom didn't get an airing (sniffle).

This thread doesn't belong in this forum but it appears the question has been answered so rather than move it I'm closing it.

I know, i have seen it all for myself.
He was referring to an old forum that I've removed. The forum was called dead threads.
It was created over 10 years ago when the policy was to lock a thread when it got heated.
We now have better tools and staff is trained on how to use them. These are tools we did not have 10 years ago.
You will find very few, if any threads locked, including this one.

Our policy now is to leave threads open, but we can ban hostile members from posting in them specifically.
