Why Are Christians So Arrogant?

If people cant see this forum as pleasant something is wrong.

I throw myself in packs of wolves to try share the Gospel and get abused alot of the time, and thats only online. Were called to save the unsaved.

It must be really hard for those preachers in church who pay themselves fat salarys to share the same message with the same saved peaceful christians each week. Life must be tough.
not all pastors are like that... some one wrote this about my dad

There is a great shepard in our little town

He watches over his flock day and night with great love and devotion. He will take in any stray lambs he finds or who come to him without any questions or a second thought.
He condems no one, he just loves and cares for his own little lambs and strays.
No, its not our Blessed Savior Christ who is here, but a very Christ like man. He may be smalll in size, but he has a heart that outweighs his body. We who know him are very blessed.
We all thank you Shepherd Jack, for your love and devotion through out this year.

Signed A. Believer.

^^^Now that's what I'm talking about! Is it so tough? :clap

I was discussing this with a mod the other day, and still in wonderment. Something I've noticed, that Christians have a reputation for being arrogant and opinionated. I think it's an accurate impression, unfortunately. There's a lot of infighting and personal attacking on this very forum, and it sends what must be an awful message to the rest of the world. Exactly the opposite image of Christianity as a movement of love, understanding, and forgiveness, and the opposite of what this forum is supposed to be about to the outside world. So what's up, people?

Matthew 24:12
And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

Matthew 22:37-40
37 Jesus declared, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

1 Timothy 1:5
Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith,

John 10:1
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

Matthew 7:15-20
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.
19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

-------------------------

People assume they know Christ because they know some facts about the Bible.

Or because their friends don't condemn them and they claim to be Christians too.

They think they are "good people."

They deceive themselves that because they have money and possessions and are eating good God is pleased with them.

Once that delusion is set, the pride can take them on a merry-go-round ride to all kind of selfish deluded places.

But being in Christ, is being like Christ... Not being ugly, and rude, and beating people on the head with words and insults.

-------------------------

Romans 8:29
For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

-------------------------

When the trumpet sounds, and they are standing on Earth instead of carried up to be with Christ, they will know that hate was not God's way and they missed the mark in every moment.

1 John 4:8
He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

According to their fruit...

The answer is clear.

They don't know God.

Pride is a common human sin. It's something everyone has to fight against. And it's often a very difficult sin to see in ourselves (though very easy to see in others).

Many of the Proverbs warn against pride, that God is against the proud, that pride leads to destruction. On the other hand, they commend humility and prudence.

And, yes, even with Christians, pride is an issue we must deal with, a sin we can all find in ourselves.

Perhaps this is a good place for us to start, "Christ came into the world to save sinners, and I am the chiefest of sinners". We must examine ourselves, to know our own sinfulness. There is a place for speaking against the sins of the world, or to confront our brothers about their sins, but it can be dangerous if we do not also consider ourselves.

that Christians have a reputation for being arrogant and opinionated

Is it arrogant to support what one believes?
As for opinionated, again standing up for the truth, is that opinionated?

Turnin̈g it around, calling oneself " Bright ", implying that those who didn’t share that view were ' ignorant' , not a ' bright' is highly arrogant and to state without valid evidence there is no God is opinonated.

Pro 8:13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Pro 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Pro 16:19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

Mat 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Mat 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Mat 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

The OT scribes and pharisees thought that the Gospel was arrogance. How Dare Jesus tell them that their righteousness wasn't going to save them. Paul said 'I bring you the truth and now you hate me?' These days, just having a different view and being challenged for it is called hatred, being mean, arrogance, etc.. This is an obvious move by those pushing relativism. Suppressing the truth in unrighteousness. Nothing new under the sun, aye? Sorry, I've got Canadians living in my head. :biggrin2 lol I'm slap happy tired right now and amusing myself just fine, thankyou.

I was watching the walking dead last night out of boredom, (I know, not the most moral show), but in one scene there was a sign laying on the floor. It said 'Americans don't tolerate racism'. I changed it in my mind to 'Americans, "don't tolerate" = racism.' Seemed more accurate. False doctrine only survives when it isn't scrutinized.

This tolerance movement has infected everything. Everything is called arrogance, hatred, etc..

Ralphie with soap in his mouth says, "woke neebs hoo be hicker sckimmed".
