Why do pigs roll in the mud?

Pigs dont have sweat glands from what I know,,,,or if they do have them there not active,,,,,which would make for some pretty hot pigs......Rolling around in mud would keep them cool and would provide sunblock and insect repelent......I think I wil continue to just by mine from walmart....
 
i prefer the pig to homegrown then slaughtered, try the bacon from a good slaughter house and you'll see, i miss the bacon with the brine.

There's wild pigs here, all over Texas and pretty much everywhere anywhere. A farmers nuisance and destroyer of land. Shoot em' if you see em'. :-)

what and waiste the meat, i've eaten wild boar before, same species, just the meat tastes better.
 
Who said anything about wasting the meat?

Donate it or eat it yourself. :-)
 
thought so. I'm glad that i've got coworkers who do hunt and bring in the kill for lunch at times, last week we had dolphin, and it was excellent. i have had that in years.
