Why do YOU think that God created "man"?
What end result is He trying to achieve?

Good question Brother. Curiously enough, I almost posted this same question just yesterday.
I've thought about this a little bit. I'm prolly wrong ultimately, lol. I'm immediately thinking of a Job type of scenario, where Satan is talking to GOD, and perhaps accusing Him of... beongy less than fair or some such. nonsense. So it could be an honor situation, and GOD thought oh yeah, I'll prove it...and did all this. It may seem a lot to make a point, but He IS GOD...

Something along those lines maybe.

We put this to a song we used to sing before morning bible study..

Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

I'm thinking he wanted friends to think the way he thinks, but that went south in the garden..

To Fellowship with Him, Glorify Him and spend eternity doing so. God gave man choice His desire was that man would desire Him as He did man. In the old testament He repeatedly stated His desire that He be our God we His people. The sending of His Son was to fulfill that desire and bring man which He loved back to Him.

Peter,
You are so on. I said this in another string on this subject and I'll say it again. The first three chapters of Genesis are our Life Foundation. It is there we find God walking in the cool of the day with His most cherished creation (fellowship). It is in the Creation Story that we find what Jesus came to restore, fellowship with God's most cherished creation, mankind.

The answer is grace, mercy and forgiveness.

God was is complete without mankind. He wasn't lonely. But God being infinitely good noticed an unexercised portion of His goodness.

And so He created mankind.

Not that we have a license to sin. But God expected it.

We believe that GOD created man/woman for to have perfect fellowship with his maker above all that GOD has made: http://biblehub.com/colossians/1-16.htm

In the book of Genesis we read in the 1st. chapter and the 26th. through the 31st. verses. : Genesis 1:26-31.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14. but, most of all I think about The Sabbath as a completed weekly cycle to honor his/Jesus holy name. https://www.google.com/webhp?source...ted+weekly+cycle+to+honor+his/Jesus+holy+name.

Jesus said, to take my yoke upon you and learn of him. http://biblehub.com/matthew/11-29.htm

Matthew 11:29

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation+4:11 , it is also my thinking about:

Revelation 4:11, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

I think God made all the creatures in the universe as an expression of His Glory, but Man deserves an extra mention as His special project. We are made in His image (Genesis 9:6), meaning we physically resemble Him. In us He sees His own manifest and magnificient Love.

The question continues! Why were the angels made? Same reason as why man was made?
I would say for the same basic reason: to manifest His glory. I think God took a look at all His creations and said, "How about a species that actually looks like little versions of Me? How cool would that be?" And so it came to past.
