I heard a guy on TV who does not believe in God say, that, why would God want to be worshiped. He said that it is selfish and self serving, he was saying why would someone want you to keep praising them over and over and over again every minute of the day and night.

Why does God demand, seek, or request that we worship Him?

I don't know why, but I do know I feel better when I worship Him. So maybe worship isn't so much for God, but for us??

Where does it say in scripture that God commands us to worship Him? I'm struggling to find it.

I don't see where it says that God demands that we worship Him. He deserves it most certainly and He alone is worthy of worship but where in scripture does it say God demands that we worship Him? It says we are not to worship other gods. It says we are to love Him. It says He alone is worthy of our worship. I have been having trouble finding a reference to God demanding that we worship Him.

I did not say anything about demand in my post

Ah. My mistake. I guess the real question then should be, why do we want worship?

No WIP, the guy on TV was saying, why does God want us to worship Him day and night

leave to the Christian to confine worship as only singing praises at church or wherever when its everything we do that glorifies god.

We all want to be worshiped. I don't think I can every remember coming across someone that does not want to be respected, loved, admired, revered, adored, honored, praised, highly regarded, etc. always. The difference is that none of us are worthy to be worshiped as God is. When I hear a non-Christian ask a question like this I hear a jealous person. They are the truly selfish person because they are not willing to give up their own pride to give God the glory He deserves but instead are expecting the glory for themselves.

Reading the op title, I thought: "Hmmm... why does my wife want me to love her?"
