Why Does Government Leave God Out?

"Anyone who isn't with me opposes me, and anyone who isn't working with me is actually working against me. Matthew 12:30 NLT
Mark 9:40.....
"For he who is not against us is for us.

The government is a secular institution. All true believers need not apply.

the sad thing is , gary. is that the church and the "Christian" business are often just as bad or worse then the secular versions at times. I personally have been robbed of wages by a church. they were forced to pay me but still it shouldn't haven't ever been done to me like that

Jason, I've been mistaking your posts for Classik's posts lately.... may have something to do with your avatar.

LOL That almost makes me wanna go to hell. Almost. :lol

The American Pledge of Allegiance says, "one Nation under God"...not one Nation under Government. So why does government leave God out?

In my opinion, a secular government has no business sticking it's nose in people's private lives or regulating people's private affairs. Religion is a private affair.
This country was based on religious freedom for each and every citizen.
There are too many Pharisees in this country and in government for me to want the government between me and my Lord.

that is exactly why the first amendment was intended for. ie the non Anglican tax

Forgive me Deborah13, but I sense a hint of the old covenant mindset I have referred to in my Bible study thread. Under the old covenant, the king, the priest and the prophet stood between you and the Lord. But Christ has broken down all barriers so that there is nothing that can come between you and your Lord. Our relationship is of the Spirit, for God is Spirit. The governments have only the authority to govern man after the flesh.

When we look at areas where we think the government is sticking its business into peoples private lives, do we only react to how it appears according to our flesh, or have you stopped to consider how the Spirit of the Lord might be using that situation.
For example: If a school were to ban all religious symbols while on school property, there would be fury and outrage over having your freedom to wear your crucifix taken from you. But how might the Lord see such a situation? What does it say about a person when they object to their idols being taken away? Same for Christmas time; No nativity scenes on public lands, so that you are not able to worship before your idols. We do not think to repent; instead we see the government as the evil oppressor who takes away our religious freedom. It's all about perspective.

Those are such meaningless examples. I hardly think they are worth mentioning.

How about if the government said no one of any religion could get together an fellowship with each other? How about if they put in a national religion and you were forced to put your children in that national religion's schools or your children would be taken away from you? Which is exactly what well meaning missionaries did to many Native American families.?
Or how about we go back to burning people at the stake because they don't agree with the state religion and don't forget the green wood, it burns hotter and longer.
No, thank you.

Right now in Israel, Orthodox Jewish women must keep their hair covered. So rather than wearing a head covering some of them wear wigs. Really? I read that on an Orthodox Jewish woman's blog and her husband is a rabbi in, Israel.
I can do without the Judizers/Pharisees, even those who are Christians.
