YORKVILLE — A Texas man faces charges after he allegedly crashed into a Yorkville ditch, one he reportedly believed was actually in his home state.
Daniel E. Mabry, 28, was charged Monday with misdemeanor disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana after his alleged confused encounter with the Racine County Sheriff’s deputies early Sunday morning, according to a criminal complaint.
When the deputy arrived on scene, he reportedly found the car Mabry was driving 35 feet into the ditch alongside Interstate 94 in Yorkville, with the tires spinning, according to the complaint, and tracks in the fresh snow leading southbound on the northbound lane.
According to the complaint, Mabry reportedly told police, “please help me, I’m bleeding!†and “there’s blood all over my hands!†But the officer on scene did not observe any blood.
The deputy then assisted Mabry up to the roadway, where the man allegedly indicated he had to urinate before doing so on the side of the road, according to the complaint, and then reportedly asked if they were in Texas.
“We’re in Wisconsin? I thought we were closer to Texas!†Mabry allegedly told police after learning his whereabouts, according to the complaint...
