Why Preach Repentance with the Gospel ?

So getting back to this repentance from, sin, the devil, unbelief, carnal mind, evil, wickedness, however you want to say it, I recall this scripture,
1 John 3:9
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

I notice that the reason we can't sin is because His seed remains in us. This seed is therefore the key to repentance. Speaking for myself, I Love God's Spirit of Love, so I am never willingly wanting to treat others as I would not want to be treated, just like the scripture says. But I still do have thoughts that are not Godly, and I only notice them thanks to the Holy Spirit, Who then corrects my thinking. Glory to God!
Hi childeye,
Good scripture but extracted from the whole of scripture it is of little value. Couple it with Romans 3 and it begins to plumb some of the depth of scripture. It is still not all inclusive but it does go deeper into the subject. You see 1Jon 3:9 offers a paradox to Romans 3:10 and 23, for all have sinned, there are none righteous. Both are fully true and without enlisting the Holy Spirit, what I am about to tell will sound as gibberish.

"I" have not sinned since the day I accepted the Holy Spirit! True in that I no longer plan to sin. I do not go out on Friday or/and Saturday Nights with my guitars to find a girl to crawl into bed with. Be then "He that claims to be without sin is a liar!" I do not, ever, want to be discovered going that route.

My favorite example of a saved man is one of the common punishment for murder in some of their outlying states. The murderer, caught at or immediately and near the scene was lashed together with his victim attached to his back. He and his victim have become one, just as the Holy Spirit and the Christian have. In our case it is for good, in the murderer's case, the rotting corpse, the victim, is slowly, painfully and viciously slaughtering the murderer.

In the sense that we are Spiritual, we do no longer sin. Ahhhh! But that dead Natural Man is for this span of time, still on your back, and is an influence in your life. So it is that the Christian can and oft does fall into accidental sin.

I pray htis helps your understanding and future use of scripture.

Did you understand the OP ?
Revelation 5:9 KJV
And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and naton;

I must learn to speak 5 point Calvanism a tad better to really answer. Kidneys speak differently than the liver people.

Coming out of total depravity the Gentiles needed repentance. Then Israel was encouraged to repent also.

Some speak Biology, some Chemistry, others Mathematics. Not even to mention Pharisees, Sadducees, Circumcism Party, etc.

Sometimes folks wonder if I even speak English. All believers in the redemption Jesus Christ provided still tend toward their own dialect.

No, it certainly is NOT. It is merely a part of Five Point Calvinism, which is rejected by the majority of Christians as false doctrine.

That's a big call. Beginning with e.g. Augustine and Aquinas (not to mention Paul!), the majority of Christians have held some form of limited atonement / particular redemption. The possible points of view are, after all:

1) Universalism: all people are saved, even unbelievers.

2) Some form of limited atonement / particular redemption: Christ's sacrifice was sufficient to save the whole world, but Christ intended to save only the elect (John 10:27-28, Romans 11:5-7).

3) Divine failure: Christ intended to save all people, but was only able to achieve the salvation of some.

Of those, (1) and (3) are very much minority viewpoints. So the debate really comes down to who exactly "the elect" are, and how exactly they are "elected." And that is a debate that requires a lot more Bible study, and a lot less emotion, than it sometimes gets.

Luke 24:44 KJV
And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Then die
After death the grave

The thought being there is an order to what happens / happened to Jesus.

Now another order. (Our order)
First John's repentance
Then belief in Jesus Christ's work
Afterward baptism in Holy Spirit and fire
( then go teach these aspects - - much as the order Jesus went through was important, so is our order). Our order does not need to be brittle but flowing (you can sometimes find an exception, or think on the matter).

Use me as an example.
My time in John's baptism lasted about 12 long drawn out years. I heard of Jesus but did not fully comprehend his work that accomplished eternal life.
Then I accepted his salvation.
Then about two years later I was baptised in the Holy Spirit (at home reading the scriptures).

I could have done all the things in minutes. Because I took years between steps I know these steps.

The fire is probably best left to another thread (that will allow much discussion).

Repentance gives a need
For
Forgiveness (personal) in Jesus Christ.
Then
The Holy Spirit is needed for power to witness the steps to others. (Preach kingdom Gospel).
Now
We can talk about and / and / and as a combined group.
After the then / then / then was explained.
