Bible Study Why would Jesus say this?

Paul, was an Apostle. He had the right to judge. Notice he never handed that over to anyone in the Church. We are to discern justly and separate or avoid in the right circumstances. And the Corinthians, in this example, ended up judging the man! Paul had to go back and order them to let the man back in! They judged him rather than discern justly.

And exactly how is it that what you said, disqualifies the scriptures that Paul says to put away from the body of Christ the leaven of the one who is in wickedness so it does not contaminate the whole lump?

We separate from or avoid the leaven. As believers, we cannot hand them over to satan. Paul, as an Apostle, had that right,we do not. Paul never tells us to go "fix" the leaven. Just separate or avoid.

So, you do agree that iniquity should not be in the body of Christ and that we should separate ourselves from those who do it, and that must mean that we neither should be doing it right? So we are to judge it as sinful behavior when we see and know it is true, as my Op says many shall say Lord Lord but he will not recognize them as any member of his body due to their iniquity, correct?
