As a Christian holiday, Christmas is foundational to America’s original character. It’s affected our founders’ understanding of human nature.

Read the article at the link , I thought it was a good one :) .

Excerpt from article .
"History shows that so many levels of human advancement were made possible by God who became man, born in the humble circumstances of a dirty stable in the small village of Bethlehem, a speck in the vast Roman Empire. While that empire would crumble and fall, Jesus, who had neither an army nor won any military battles, went on to become the Lord and Savior for people who believe all over the world. For, as He said, “My Kingdom is not of this world.”"

I don't disagree but the whole world kingdoms will be crushed by cross

The puritanical fundamentalists banned Christmas!

People can ban whatever they want, but the love of Christ remains in the heart of those who celebrate Him regardless of any governmental ruling powers. In the end when Christ returns and judgement is made those who have rejected Christ will be banned from eternal life with Him.

See my response .I'm not one to be against the trees but I know the history of why the puritans did it .

hawkman that was a good article. Jesus the same yesterday, today and forever. Satan thought he won by silencing Jesus, but to his surprise God raised Him from the dead to be King of kings and Lord of Lords and lives forever more.

I too understand the pagan elements behind much of the Christmas festivities, but when I put my tree up and decorate it it's for the celebration of the birth of Christ and I put a banner on the tree that says Happy Birthday Jesus with a writing of Isaiah 9:6.

They banned it because in Europa as Is today ,the drunken parties etc .

Isaac watts wrote Xmas music and he was well known in the colonies .
