not much happened since the ending of enterprise or really ds9. btw stargate drew in so much recruits for the air force that the airforce made rda an honorary general.

Its the only show that did show the military in a good light.I am in the military.
 
Haha. I think the second Transformers movie was also heavily funded by the military. xD
 
topic merged. and no the military cant do that. They (the dod) screens and censors all movies for accuries and picks and dictates what shall be made inacurrate. I have seen some of the delebarate errors made. If you have served you would catch that.

I want to learn to fight, but I', going to start with some different training than military. By the time I'm done I'll probably be considered too old to join the military.
 
huh, the max age for the reserve and guard is 41 and the active side is 36 , i think. I have almost twenty yrs in.

What are you going to fight in or where? mma or others. I hope you dont mean in that you are going to join a local militia.

I want to learn the panther style of shaolin kung fu, learn some other forms of martial arts. I want to become proficient in nunchucks and hook swords too. I should probably relearn firearms too--I used to be able to load a 22 calibur with a decent amount of ease (given I was six and my hands were going numb with cold. xD) MMA would be fun once I learn some styles, I LOVE ufc.
 
too bad, i will retire in a few and when i'm 60 I get the check then. I'm not a full timer. It will be around when ss fails.

The best way to prepare for mma is do a style that is used and trains for the the mma fight circuits. They are to my knowledge is bjj, thai boxing , and judo , karate-do.the later is hard to find as most dojos teach the wus art.

Weapons are fun to learn I did some of those, but to be honest who will attack you with a nunchaku or a sai. I like the samarai swords, but if i got back into weapons it would be the kali/arnis de mano/jkd with the knife and escrima as though have more life like apps. They also blend very well with the bjj i do.

my ranking are as follows shodan
aikido
ryokakokai karate-do
arnis de mano e ditso
the last one was just given to me as i was already bbelt in the karate-do.


I'm only ranked white belt with three stripes as bjj dont rank that often when the people dont have the judo gis or kimonos. No tests in bjj just given when you are progessing and are tapping out others or demonstrate the basic abilitie to move and counter on the ground.

Did you know the ranking system of belts and such is a totally Western thing? And I wanna learn nunchucks not because others would use them on me, but because they're a small concealable weapon to defend one's self with. Sure people use guns mostly, but there are ways to disarm them if you're fast.
 
nunchakus are illegal in the state california and florida as sd weapons. Carry an asp then. Its on the key chain, and easily used.

The ranking structure is a modern karate-do thing started by gichin funagoshi. The white belt when it wasn washed turned in to the basic collors
yellow or tan, brown and then black. It was orginally used to tell the seniors students from the begginers. Kano jiggoro did the same thing.

Florida is a carry and conceal state that now allows one not have to retreat in order to save your life, ie a car jacking and or rape.You live in Ohio that has the same law we do. Uh cops there will arrest you or harass if you are carrying the nunchakus all the time and ask you questions. every heard of the terry frisk. They may hold the weapons or dig further into why you are carrying those things.
They terry frisk may be done if the officer feels that he needs to ask you questions and isnt going to arrest you but will take to the station to talk to you and you seem to be suspicious. That is to ensure that you arent a threat. I may arrest someone on a military installation if they had a set of nunchakus as they are to be secured and only released from the arms room when to from the dojo.

There are regs on that. In some countries those things may be illegal as sd as well, check the local laws.
 
I tried it, but I think the game is boring. It's just standard Wizards/Warriors rigamarole. I would never pay monthly fees for a game either.
 
I play, and am a GM of a raiding guild, currently clearing endgame content. We're on the US-Garona server (Alliance). I have thus far on my account:

80 Main Tank Paladin
80 Arcane Mage
80 Death Knight
76 Warlock
74 Druid
70 Rogue
57 Hunter

My paladin is by far my favorite, especially when fully raid buffed and sitting close to 50k health! :D
Nothing like running into a room full of baddies, dropping a big consecration, and watching the BLOCK BLOCK BLOCK DODGE BLOCK BLOCK PARRY BLOCK BLOCK BLOCK scrolling up the screen.
 
:wave WoW player right here... Warlock main with several alts including hunter, mage and priest. Currently, my pet project is leveling one of every alliance race as I've only played horde until now and want to experience "that" side pre-Cataclysm. So far, I'm really enjoying the breath of fresh air that is playing the game from the other side. Enjoying alliance lore much more than I thought I would.
