I am getting a flute again in a few days! -excited- So, I was wondering if anyone recommends any place that I can get contemporary worship and older hymns on sheet music for flute?

Used music store.
Places that specialize in new and used instruments usually have a large selection of music. Trying to remember the name of the places here in Nashville that have what you need...but drawing a blank.

BTW,
My wife used to play the flute. She tried again after several years of letting it slide...it was tough for her to get her wind again. She did it...but it took a while.

Just be prepared to go slow until you get your breath again. Some cardio exercise should help some with the breathing in the meantime...where you have to breathe hard.

Haha, of course you would find music in the country music capital =P

We used to have more music stores here, but now we only have one. Music books are all new so they are full price. The only worship music I have is for guitar and piano. I can play some of it, but without it written for flute I would need to rewrite it myself or find it already written. I am not sure if one of the bigger music stores in a nearby city would have some or not. We don't have any Christian book stores...well, I suppose we so inside some churches here so I would need to find their bookstore hours.

Speaking if used music...I might be able to find some at our used bookstore! Hey, didn't even think of that at first. My mom found me The Messiah sheet music book once at a thrift store so it might be worth a look.

That is awesome that your wife plays! Yay another flute player! =P

Yeah, it can take a while to get used to again. I hadn't played in almost 5 years =( but I got this! I remember a friend that didn't play it in a year and had a lot of trouble with embouchre so it was hard to get a sound of it. I am so excited, I want it to be here already lol.

I'd just about bet that you could probably find some electronic versions you could download for Kindle or other web surfing tools (laptops and tablets) and the cost would be a lot less.

In fact I'd dare say that it would be free for classic hymnal pieces

But if you are just practicing that would work...
Now if you are planning on playing in a church orchestra they should provide the sheet music for you. Our church does. Or at least they should be able to convert to blank music sheets what they want you to play.

I will have to browse the net and kindle store. It is just a bit harder to read the music unless I print it out.

I play only for fun so it is generally on my own time. I used to be in our community band in town, but without a good, working flute it is a bit difficult.

I used to play the clarinet when I was a teenager. I was in my school band as well. :)

Yeah it is but I don't remember how to play it now as that was a long time ago lol!

Aw, didn't want to play anymore or couldn't continue? My sister quit like a the next year after my mom bought her a white clarinet....I was so annoyed because I kept continuing and my flute needes repadding, it wasn't making nice sounds. I had to borrow a friends flute.

I remember trying to play the clarinet a few times. It is interesting. I thinking fiddling with reeds is not a fun thing lol.

I didn't want to play anymore because I wanted to do other things instead like Girl Scouts and horseback riding.
