Wrong view of faith

Good question. And since my sister is dying of M.S. and my son is "developmentally disabled" and paranoid schizophrenic, I'd like to see some healings happen as well.

I want to believe, but I have never seen someone grow a leg in a healing service. The only "healings" I have ever seen were the kind that you could not verify.

I want to believe.

I will say that I was prayed for during a service in the early 90's. I had a serve back pain attack happen and my back was all "curved". They prayed for me, but not to be healed, the Pastor decided that Satan was attacking me.

My pain went away and my back went strait in about 10 seconds. The video camera showed it, even.

Oddly, the Pastor was not a big "healing" promoter. He held that IF the condition was a demonic attack, that he could rebuke Satan and it would go away - which it did.

Strange. I'll never forget it. I guess my sister and son are not under demonic attack.

That is an interesting story, Pizzaguy. As I have said, I'm not an atheist. Though I have had no personal experiences, I know that SOME things have happened.

But as to your family, I once worked with a great guy who came down with ALS. He was a wonderful father and husband, and one of the kindest men you could know. He prayed and prayed, and had others fervently pray for him. He eventually died. It would be amazing to hear stories [documented] of people being healed from THESE types of things.

That is an interesting story, Pizzaguy. As I have said, I'm not an atheist. Though I have had no personal experiences, I know that SOME things have happened.

But as to your family, I once worked with a great guy who came down with ALS. He was a wonderful father and husband, and one of the kindest men you could know. He prayed and prayed, and had others fervently pray for him. He eventually died. It would be amazing to hear stories [documented] of people being healed from THESE types of things.

This has only happened once in my experiences. I had a good friend, for names sake we will call him RJ. RJ was a devoted Christian and was happily married with one 4 year old child. RJ was diagnosed with cancer. A cancer that the doctors confirmed had spread throughout his body. They did all the normal Chemo and radiation treatments, but they only gave him a few months to live.

You could see the cancer take the toll on RJ and within the third month after the diagnoses, he became a vegetable for lack of a better word. It was so noticeable, his face on the right side had "dropped" , almost compared to a stroke victim. His right eye suffered as well and the eye was hideous to say the least.

During the last month, RJ took a turn for the worst and the family and friends were called in. My Pastor and the family were at RJ's bedside when this occurred. They were literally waiting for RJ to take his last breathe, when the Pastor led them in prayer. During the prayer, RJ started to shake and tremble, not violently, but more like having the "shivers". By the time the prayer was over, RJ had come completely aware, and tried to sit up in the bed. He was only being held down by all the tubes and such he had on him. The monitors went all nuts and the nurses came in to see what was going on. We were asked to leave and the Doctor on call was paged to come in. So we waited patiently in the waiting room, all except RJ's wife who was allowed to stay with him.

Within 2 hours, the Doctor had confirmed that RJ had experienced a miracle and they were running several test to what exactly had been done. It took about 4 more hours before any more news was revealed to us, but the wife came out to us sobbing that RJ had been healed of the cancer and the Doctor's could not find any evidence of it being in his body.

RJ was kept in the hospital until the next day, and then released. He walked out on his own power cancer free and to this day is still cancer free. The year was 1993. The only sign that RJ has to prove he once had the cancer is his right eye and the right side of his face are a little dis-configured.

I truly believe this to be a miracle from God. Why did he do it for RJ and not others, I have no idea to be honest. My Father was diagonsed with cancer and did not survive, but through the whole ordeal, my mom was saved.

God works in mysterious ways, and I will continue to pray you will have your experience.
