ok two choices.

Choice 1
good haircut
civilised conversation
$25

Choice 2
good haircut
Bullying, harassment from hairdresser
$10

Will depend on your financial situation. Makes you think you might not need a haircut after all.. ?

Some more subtle examples of how hairdresser might behave;
*Ignore what you say
*They talk non stop
*Pretend not to understand what your instructions are
*get on a topic and express a very different opinion with no tact
*Start making an annoying noise...like whistling

Or hardcore insults..
"Take a chair old man. I see you don't have much hair left anyway. Which hairs do you want me to cut? Just sit there. I will do the talking. Now if you want my advice, you should ........ "

Hairdressers, physical therapists, Doctor's, taxi drivers, ......
I've decided the process is important. I need to enjoy the experience. Life is not a means to an end.
And spend the money or do it yourself..doctor google

Interesting thread.
(you sure do think a lot!)

I'd go for choice number 1.

If I had to put up with choice no. 2, I'd let my hair grow
OR
I'd clip it myself.

Anything is better than hanging with rude dudes.

Well...
As much as I love those who give me lip service with empty and heartless platitudes....
Actually those who are annoying in life are what makes life interesting.

The $10 barber knows that the $25 barber exists but knows that with his attitude he can't get enough people for half the price of the $25 barber...so he has to discount his price to less than half. And every haircut tells him he is not as valued as the $25 barber.

And even though he is annoying...he is hilarious if you can learn to not accept personally what he is saying. Hey, we all get older and lose hair. My Grandfather lost his at 30. It's simply genetics and not really anything to do with not being manly or lack of character. Nothing but genetics.

And if by chance you take a moment to really understand how annoying people add value and character and interesting times to your life...it can change the experience completely and that $10 haircut becomes worth even more than $25.

I'm paying the extra $15 to not be insulted!

Hey, did you get a hair cut..............no, I got them all cut, LOL

I bypass all of this as I cut my own hair. No one ever gets it right. Don't like being annoyed by the drama of others or their gossip.

I don't like men barbers cutting my hair. I like for a lady to do it. I think they know better what looks good on men and naturally do it better. But they're getting up there especially if it looks good and so there'll be a tip too and it's about ridiculous nowadays, so I just went down and picked up a clipper set and it was only 20 bucks and I do it myself now for the price of one haircut. :)

And no complaints yet either, lol. :)

I could have made this more interesting .....

Choice 3
Good haircut
nice and friendly but annoying traits ( not harassment) such as whistling, clearing throat, scratching nose, loud laugh, stains on shirt ....
$15

I get my haircut now for 20 bucks. Middle Eastern immigrant hairdressers. Relatively cheap. They don't talk to me but are either quiet or chat in Arabic to the other hairdressers. I don't mind. They do a good job.

I agree that some 'characters' make life more interesting. There is a line I draw though. Which is hard to explain exactly. If I feel I am compromising my self respect just to get a cheap haircut, I bail out. no nonsense thanks. Maybe you can find another customer who likes abuse.

Humans are the only living species that will work hard just to try look good, oh, and cut down a tree, turn it into paper, then write on it save the trees.
