I have used Yahoo, Bing, Google, Ask, and Dogpile. I find that I use Google the most. I think the results are sorted in a way that what I am looking for is more often at the top of the list. Don't quite know why that is though. My next best choice is Bing when Google doesn't turn up what I'm looking for.

I'm not familiar with dogpile:shrugMaybe I should try it later.

I think more people use Google more than the rest. It has wonderful features, and I use it regularly. I think Yahoo! is cool, too, can help resist harmful sites.

Startpage.com

It does not record your IP address.

First I ditched the Microsoft for Linux (and the abundant viruses went out the "windows" :lol as well). That's the first step toward true security and a virus-free computer (same with a Mac).

Then I went to startpage for all my searches.

My next project is to work on cookies somehow, but for the time being I delete them every once in awhile, especially after I go onto a site such as amazon and I don't accept 3rd party cookies.

Generally Google, but sometimes it is blocked here or I can't find what I want so I use Yahoo. I believe Google has about an 85% market share.

For a long time now I've been using AltaVista, and like it a lot better than Google. AltaVista searches are now returned on a Yahoo page.

Thanks for the tip. I just checked out the site. Looks interesting. I think I will give it a try.

Google rules. Every site, page this, that, street, market, kitchen, toilet - everywhere has a Google search stuff on it.

I like yahoo

If one IS NOT concerned about privacy, there's www.metacrawler.com ---- as a matter of fact, they "list" the top several search trends for all to see. That never bothered me since a lone search will never make it to that list. The IP thingy and cookies are more of a problem.

I forgotten all about that one i.e. the search engine that said "search the search engines" including those named here so far. But it was far more popular years ago.

Years ago they used to give out free email accounts also, but they stopped that. Since they did, I sort of forgotten about them.

I use Bing as my home page. I like the new picture every day. I also use G and yahoo as well. Thanks for the post- I am checking out start page today.
