Tomorrow is All Saints Day...the reason for "All Hallowed Eve" AKA Halloween.
It's the day that we are supposed to give thanks to God for the Spiritual fathers that we have.
And that can be anyone that has taught you. It's a "great cloud of witnesses" that God has provided. From the books you have read to the anthropologists, geologist, English teachers, and theologians. Of course it can also be parents or others who have pushed, pulled, cajoled, or blackmailed you into the Church.
God spent a lot of capital in human lives to get you to become a believer. Thanking Him for that is only proper.
