There is no discussion on Calebs mother. It was the Father's lineage that was counted in the OT. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob etc etc

The essence of ones soul comes from the Mother. The Identity of one's soul comes from the Father. Thus, a soul would be identified with the Fathers tribe, if one were of a particular tribe or House.

As far as Caleb, I thought he was from Judah.

Numbers 13:6 Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.
Numbers 14:38 But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of the men that went to search the land, lived still.

actually in jewry. the woman's lineage counts. sorry. its because that im not a jew to orthodox jews.

Jewry very well could be traditions of men. We both know they have messed up everything from losing God's name to changing the calender, to denying Messiah. I'll stick with scripture.

See Joshua 14:6. Caleb's father was a Kennezite, I believe related to the Midianites. You will find them in Genesis where YHWH is speaking to Avraham regarding the land promise.
