it wasn't always that bad ,I,remember when it was occupied ,its barn collapsed before it ,I wanted to drive my work truck to it when i would grab the fec read as it is only a few hundred feet from it

interesting, my hunch was right, the photo i will post of the two churches are indeed connected, the woodframe one is a house orifiginally and at some point became a church, its owners are likely the founders of the new prospect church as there is a deed showing a lawsuit against the estate of the owners of both properties, its possible that the older church was the earlier new prospect church then after its sale to elder manning who made it his church. this isnt unusual,

What a nice looking man. You can tell he is a Christian. He's had a full and interesting life.
he isnt dead. i have a photo of the church and a house he likely lived in across from the church, i couldnt ignore that derelict and wonder why it was built. given the location to a probable grove area. the home was a grove worker house and built for that , cant say for sure as i didnt see the typical mounds, but did photo a flow or artestian well and a well with a pump, both likely still used or able to be.

Are you going to post it :)
yes, uploading the photos. thanks for the inspiration to photo , i have a member in my church who attended this church and would tell me something, he lives not far and his dad was like the elder and worked for a helseth who had pineapple groves and also citrus groves, i must not ignore that derelict ,

once my county was vert much like where i plan to retire, farms of different types, save peanuts thought we can grow them here and pecans. cotton too. potatoes, tomatoes, corn, citrus mostly, cabbage, lettuce, onions, green beans, pineapples. of the citrus, oranges, lemons, grapefruit, mangoes. tangerines, bananas

the road the churches and my church is on is an old farm one. groves were to be found from 95 to us1, the groves are all gone. my church it self is tied directly a pineapple grove family that old packing house converted into a home albeit a bit east still stands. a family member of the helseths sold the lot to what is now timber ridge and later on that was sold to my church. i will have a thread on that when i go to the 25th anniversary of my church. i took photos of the older meeting place as the deacon said where it was and the first pastor said it was that church. so the old photos of that time will probably include places i have been to, or references to places i know of.

i am old
i am ignored
i am he that saw pilots training
i am he that heard racing cars and trains

i am he who heard trains
i am who was seen when us1 was the way to see me
i am ready to go

near by and a bit to the north but not impossible to hear the sounds of either a grey hound track or racing track before the one next the pig farm, that is why i said racing, there was a race track that was gone by the 50s, it is now 53rd st.its possible that it was the old gifford grey hound track as each community had one, some lasted. some didnt. in my county most communiites had one. where vero beach was is now a few things, mostly a ball park and community. the racing track and its story of becoming at some point in parts or near it is tied to my wifes cousin as he owned the asphalt plant to the north of the pig farm. i bet old charlie would know the story

there is one more poem for the gas station , i took three places to photo and these reference each other in the poems. the gas station has a house that was next to it. while i hated the gifford driving route for its length. i found a lot of things to photo. so my next set will be the churches that i did photo after the ones i took today. there is many stories of segregation and sadness on that route that i sensed and didnt photo yet. but i will one day get to them

from what the county says and per a geneologist and historian it can be off, this was built in 37. it is less common to find wood frame homes built after 1950 on cinder blocks. they started building what is called mid century modern and those were more economical to do . that will really derail the thread, of course i have photos of those. i read those and we have whole communiities of those still as they were on my routes.
