Well we had another wonderful message this morning in church. It was all about the fact that no matter what we've done God's love for us is unconditional and salvation was given to us freely right when we decided to accept Christ as our Savior even though we are definitely undeserving of it. That was a message that I really needed to be reminded of so I'm really glad I went even though I was extremely tired since I didn't get as much sleep as I usually do last night. Here's a brand new song that we sung today that just proves how amazing God and His love is. :cross

I also forgot to add yesterday that we learned how we should really act more Christlike but often times we don't and without meaning to we wind up putting ourselves before the Lord and do we want to do anyways. * slowly raises hand* And yes I myself am guilty of that sometimes. :oops2 And I'm definitely not proud of it either. :nonono

Sorry this is so late even though I went to church early this morning. My laptop has been a pain in the butt lately. :wall Anyways today we learned all about how we are all called to spread the good news that Jesus loves us and He desperately wants a relationship with us and for us to spend eternity in Heaven with Him which is why He laid down His life for us and made the ultimate sacrifice. And He will save the people that choose to follow Him. :cross There's always beautiful messages at that church it seems like. Here's another new song that we sung today. :)

We had a visiting Adult Sunday School teacher. I don't know what his credentials are or how he came to be invited.
He was pretty political. He "taught" the last two Sundays.
I "learned" that Trump is a modern day Cyrus. An outsider especially annointed by God and even indicated in scripture because Cyrus is in Isaiah 45 and Trump is president #45.
I learned that a replica of a Roman arch that is in Palmyra, Syria, that has been displayed in Lonfon, New York, and Washington DC, is the Arch of the Temple of Baal, entryway to the Temple, and an darkly evil thing unleashed by Satan. The fellow has a Roman Arch built in 200 AD confused with the entrance of the Temple built in 32AD.
I "learned" that the Jews purchased what is now Israel in 1920. He showed a picture of two Jews and an Arab with a deed taken in 1920. It was actually a purchase of a single plot of ground. By the end of WWII Jews had purchased about 6% of the land we call Israel today.
I "learned" that the prophecy of the desert blooming in Isaiah 35 has been fulfilled by Isrsel as of now who are using modern irrigation to grow crops. And here I always thought is a prophecy pointing to a supernatural act by God in the end times, not an act by normal people using the same techniques used in the American west and other arid places around the world.

I am angry because this stuff he presented is not true and distracts Christians from the truth.

Well, even though church was a long time ago this morning and I'm half asleep right now, we learned all about the importance of God coming to earth as a human (or infant) in order to pay the ultimate sacrifice on our behalf.

If I'm being completely honest with you (which I am) we were a bit late this morning because we slept in, but we got there in time to sing this song. Luckily for us nobody is standing at the door shaking their finger at us for being tardy lol! :lol They're just happy that we can make it whenever we can. :)

Oh and this song as well.

Well we really didn't learn anything in church today, we just renewed our covenant and sang this song. :)

Our daughter had one early in December. She had plans to announce her pregnancy to the family at Christmas. We have five sons and one daughter. She teaches special ed and waited to get her masters out of the way to start their family. So we hope and pray for good news for them before too long.

The pastor of the church I attend and some men in the church went to a three day men's gathering about a five hour drive away. The second day the pastor learned that his first grandchild had been born. This was two weeks earlier than expected but all was well.
Today they were back and a man up front talking about their experiences commended the pastor for his spiritual depth because he did not give into a worldly draw and leave the conference and go home to see his first grandchild and his daughter.
His choice was his to make but I would hardly call rushing to see a first grandchild a worldly draw. I would not have taken it as a strike against him spiritually if he wanted to see this new babe.

Oh boy, today was one of the rare occurrences where I wasn't a hundred percent happy with today's sermon. I agreed with the part about how sometimes we make lame excuses not to set away any time for God, but I didn't agree with the fact on what the pastor called "lame excuses" for not attending church and how he actually called up people to find out why they weren't there in the first place. :nag

All in all my church is definitely not the pushy kind, for the most part they're happy to see you when you're there and sometimes if they haven't seen you for awhile they'll point that out and wonder how you're doing, but calling to see why you didn't attend is just a bit too busy for me which is why I never sign in and give out my phone number so I don't go every week. Anyways, we did sing really good songs this morning so that was another plus. :)

Some churches are very strict about attending every week, others are not. Hope the hymns cheered you up. What do you mean about signing in? Do you sign in a book.
I always went every week except foe once when my son was ill. Half an hour after the service the pastor was at the front door.

Yes they're attendance books that list all of your contact information.

Never seen that done before, perhaps I just wasn't belonging to a church that used that.

Yeah me neither but apparently some churches do and it just really isn't my thing, but yes to answer your question the hymns definitely cheered me up. My favorite one was the last one that I posted. :)

I saw this YT video (so I guess it counts as Church?) that talks about what we need to do in order to get to heaven. Says some really radical stuff. Check it out below:

Having been a church attender all of my life...which as most of you know is quite a long time...(so far). I miss being there every week. Since the bout with pneumonia and now heart condition and procedures, limits on driving and energy, I am stuck at home. However, I can view all (including the worship part of services from my church ) on line. This past week was "Football Sunday" also Super Bowl Sunday, so the service was mainly viewing of a video with Rams and Patriots team members giving testimony to God. I always appreciate testimonies, but gotta admit I miss hearing a sermon. Next week..yes. Meanwhile there is a prayer meeting Wednesday nights I can also view online. I used to be very involved in various ministries from administrative to greeter to prayer team, to leading bible studies, Sunday school teaching, youth group adviser, and on and on. Miss that but mainly miss that weekly fellowship and looking forward to the day I can return on a regular basis.
