I'm so sick of the cold weather that in my mind I'm in Jamaica. My office is decorated with a beach theme and I play some beachy/summer/reggae music. I've got my space-heater going too so I stay toasty warm.
Anyone else wish they were somewhere tropical right now? or if you could be anywhere else right now, where would it be?

It's not cold here, just rainy, but I'd go anywhere there was sun and a beach.

I embrace winter. I actually enjoy it. It's a break from the heat of summer and I can take cold much easier than I can heat.

Never forget one summer I had to spend about six weeks in Gaffney, SC in July and August. The machine operators that I was working with asked me how we can take the cold in Minnesota. Here's what I told them.

No matter how cold it gets, I can always dress for it and if I keep busy I can stay warm. What I can't take is being in a place like South Carolina where the temperature is stuck at 85 degrees F. or higher with relative humidity approaching 100% constantly. When I get up in the morning, look out the window of my hotel, and see a nice sunny day getting started with a light breeze I can't help but admire the beauty of it until I open the door and about pass out from the blast furnace of heat and humidity that hits me in the face. Then I realize that no matter what I do I can't get away from it unless I find an air conditioned space. I can't dress down far enough. I can't get relief in the shade. Sweating does no good so my body continues to heat up no matter what. That is impossible for me to take.

I would rather be here in my own house, But I'am from New Orleans, La. And there is no place like home sweet home for me wright now.

Home. I can relate to you WIP I was born and raised in Alaska so I have a very low threshold for heat also, I recently moved to a place where summer temps stay around 70 deg. I was literally ill at first.I like to ride at least a few miles a day on my mtn bike, I've never had sunburn before with my first experience I was shocked to see my skin peeling off. I thought maybe I was bit by one of those spiders that inject flesh eating venom LOL.

I have to get out of this Florida weather.
It's 61 degrees and I'm freezing.
One of these days I'll be in Monte Video, Uruguay for the winter.

im closer, I hate the beach. I wonder why I hate the beach so much. accursed non natives and snowbirds. destroying what isn't naturally beautiful and forcing florida to be nice. its not meant to be friendly to us.

Don't the locals know some good spots that no one else knows about?

That's too bad, but whenever I see a Florida beach it's covered with people.

those are gone and if they do exist, its within a gated and snobbish community. I will have to post pics of what was.
